  1. A few tacho exemptions that exist might be of interest to some, 5 ,6. and maybe 17. If the form is filled in and sent off Vosa will have it on their database as exempt, we have used it on our bowsers etc. Bob https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/210068/hgv-tachograph-exemption-declaration-form.pdf
  2. I dont understand the mentality of the dealers, warranty work is paying work so what is the difference. Car dealers dont have issues carrying out warranty work on vehicles they have not supplied so why should tool and equipment suppliers. Bob
  3. The great unwashed and ill bred part of society will always launch their crud onto the street. Its all part of their upbringing, they are a bit like a dog thats not house trained. There is quite a bit of road frontage to this place and I reckon i could fill a bin bag a week with low life`s discarded food wrappers ,drink cans and fag packets. Its all in the breeding Bob
  4. The tacho and filling it out is a 60 second job and can actually help you if you have a prang, it can confirm speeds and braking very accurately. A friend of mine had a head on down a country lane with a dick that thought he was Shumacher , the blame fest ensued and it was the tacho put the blame very firmly with the car driver. There are a few exemptions for the O license if you read through them, I am not suggesting anyone should make them fit but if you have a yard on a farm and all your waste wood/chip is wanted by the farmer , make your own mind up. http://www.genquip.co.uk/downloads/Vehicles_Exempt_From_Operator_Licensing_Requirements.pdf From this. 2. Hauling articles for a farm required by the keeper, being either the occupier of the farm or a contractor employed to do agricultural work on the farm by the occupier of the farm. 3. Hauling articles for a forestry estate required by the keeper where the keeper is the occupier of that estate or employed to do forestry work on the estate by the occupier or a contractor employed to do forestry work on the estate by the occupier.
  5. Like the two and a half hours I had to wait a few weeks ago while dog walkers returned to their abandoned cars so I could get our kit out of a woodland. Sorry does not cut it. Bob

    Dream CAR

I am sick as well , have been building V8 monsters for the last 30 years.
  7. A mate of mine went on a stag do to Prague. The groom had no idea what they had staged, they were driving from the airport down a country lane and were ambushed by what looked like the Mafia. They were all made to lay face down in a field with guns to the backs of their heads , the groom actually messed himself while the others were having trouble holding back the laughter. The guy with gun to the grooms head just said in broken english "welcome to Prague" Then on to a hotel with drink and whores A little bit like this but a lot stronger Groom's terror as he is kidnapped by 16 masked men in stag prank while driving with his fiancee in country lane | Mail Online Bob
  8. We have a diesel one that the boys could not kill, the back started looking really tatty so we took it off and its now been converted into a bowser. Supertough truck with a good engine, rust would be the only thing to watch out for. Bob
  9. Backhurst, Strawberry Farm. Glaziers Lane, Normandy, Surrey GU3 2DF 01483 811360 Bob
  10. There is a house locally called Mulysa, spelled backwards? Bob

  12. Why not do like you originally wanted and use the fog light wire for the reverse and fit a simple switch to the back of the trailer to rob a live off the tail lights when you need fog. Bob
  13. Its weird that the most proficient guys in the trade are without tickets. I know a few that have been in the game since god was a boy and none have a piece of paper to their names. Bob
  14. Yep £1k to sort out a yd25 if it goes bang. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/arb-trucks/66110-knackered-navara.html Bob
  15. There are two very straight sticks of scots pine in the yard. 1 is 600mm dia and the other is 450mm, both are 30` long. Anyone interested ? Can load. Bob
  16. If you are referring to the 6 pot 5.7ltr ish units there is nothing in it. We have a Perkins Phaser in the tractor and a Cummins in the chipper and they are pretty much the same. Both knock out between 120/210hp depending on spec. Bob
  17. I dont think thats got a hope in hell of busting up a track . We have a Drott bulldozer with 6 rippers on the back and that struggles breaking up tracks . That weighs about 8 tons. That thing looks like its made for just hard soil. Bob
  18. If you are self employed with guys on then you would not be lying if you added accountant, shrink, driver, dogsbody, mechanic, receptionist, medic, loan shark, tax collector, labourer, saw doctor and wet nurse Bob

I think I will retire and just rent out sections of my place, Its ultra secure with 5 land sharks prowling all night and I think it would house at least 20 of you:confused13:. Bob
  21. Are comparing like for like here on these policies. Are these cheap quotes for any driver and for commercial use + trailer with fully comp or just for named driver ? Also is there a massive excess? Bob
  22. We have quite a lot of 4x4`s on our fleetplan insurance which cover any drivers , the policy does not exclude under 21`s but they rob us of about £1500 a pop for them each year. In theory thats the sort of figure you could expect to pay. Bob

  24. Guy the log has a few of these Chinky saw`s and to be honest they are not that bad, yes they are a lightweight but the way i see it is if they suit your needs go for it. The spares situation is really the only problem but watch this space because as soon as there is enough want for aftermarket spares someone will jump on the band wagon and supply them. Other than the pull start mechanism`s they seem to have held up well. Bob
