  1. Get a set of mortice chisels with a through tang for beating with whatever hammer comes to hand and for scraping stuff off whatever you are working on and a set of nice chisels to love and cherish for ever and ever.
  2. Some blokes digging the road up outside our house got me one day. One of them said " Is there a café handy " to which I replied "yes there's one about 300 yards that way round the bend". His mate chipped in, " No you're supposed to say, why are you ready for a drink ?"
  3. Straight away I thought one of the tyres with a quarter cut out would make a guard for the blade. A friend of ours fell onto his table saw with a proper guard and everything legit and took one and a half fingers off and those two look to have all their digits still attached.
  4. He might send you a brand new one but it will still be best part of £300 more than you could get one for from Radmore & Tucker.

    Lidl.

We went to Lidl this afternoon. We bought our usual shop plus a bottle of cheap whiskey and a Irish Coffee Bailey's lookalike for a mate. We are having lamb for Christmas dinner for a change, usually have beef and a few years back was meat and potato pie.
  6. Can you claim squatter's rights on a hedge ? If you've been maintaining it for 20 years and no-one has contested you doing it you have as much claim to it as anyone else. Why does it matter who owns the hedge at the side of a footpath, do you need it for access to the land ? This might cast a different light on the subject.
  7. Massaged he says. It's probably been given a rub down to get it in the mood Lowered rakers would be my guess if the chip is coming off heavy.
  8. To be honest I think the mascara is the least of your worries there mate I tend to wear a T shirt, Fred Perry then a Regatta fleece jumper and a hoodie on top if it gets cool.
  9. 71 year old, my wife just said there's hope for me yet I'm only 62 I'll get my name down for a climbing course.
  10. Only if you make it with Yorkshire water though Don't use it out of the River Rother though or it'll be like soup. The Rother flows through here and it's little more than a brook. It flows from Derbyshire into Yorkshire and is odd in that it flows the opposite way to all the others round here. A bit off topic but somebody might be interested Mrs. Idiot ? I bet she loves it when you call her that She's not far from here then tell her hello. P.S. Co-op 99 loose leaf is the best tea.
  11. I've just read the Rincewind books and am working my way through the witches books now I sit laughing out loud at some of the things I'm reading, brilliant.
  12. On a 4 stroke with longer inlet ports it is thought by some that a rougher finish may benefit the fuel atomisation but on the short distance that the fuel is travelling in the ports on a two stroke I can't see it making any difference whether they are polished or left a bit rougher. Just my view though no science behind it and if anyone has a dyno that is able to pick up minute variations in power there may be some evidence somewhere on the net.
  13. A friend of mine has those as work lights on the back of his Land Rover and they are very bright. They light all the yard up for a good distance.
  14. Unicorns only come in white, that's just dumb.
  15. No. have you got any pictures ?
  16. Come on, the suspenders is killing me At least tell us what your quote was and whether the other was higher or lower, was it for a Brucie bonus ? I'll go with £6000 for the lot from your other quoter.
  17. The excuse fat people come up with it is usually that they cannot afford to eat healthily. If you are too preoccupied with when the next payment is coming in and how to fiddle more out of the system you haven't got time to grow food and look what is good or bad for you. Look at the Iceland party food adverts on telly now and you'll notice how little green there is on the table. That is where they see what they expect to get, where a lot of them get their education. Go back to food stamps to be spent on vegetables at a grocery store instead of handing them wads of cash and if anybody gets money have them do work for it to the value of payment, street sweeping or anything to show that the money doesn't just appear out of thin air. The money saved at the food bank round here goes on fags and booze.
  18. Did you get anywhere with this or are you still using it as it is ?
  19. That must be out of date. The retirement age has been equalised and raised for both genders now depending on their year of birth. Anyone who is 59 now will not wualify for a pension till they are 66 under new government rules.
  20. Come on lads were lagging behind, get more chips and kebabs down your necks. How can something self inflicted be a disability ? They need education not encouragement. When you see the articles about someone weighing half a ton having to be hoisted out by the fire department with a Hiab do you think same as us, where do they get the money and who keeps bringing them all this food ? Take their phones and put them on an upstairs table and put them on a pizza shop black list.
  21. That expanding foam will hold practically anything in and a hardpoint saw is standard cutting equipment on sites they get them for a couple of quid buying in bulk. They are used for everything from Thermalite blocks to piping when the Stihl saw is not handy.
  22. If the client wants sage just plant sage, then when they want fence you'll get to plant fence
  23. Fork truck fitter where I used to work did this to anyone gullible enough to fall for it. He would hold the HT lead, ask the victim to turn the key for him then grab their other hand I was ok my truck was a diesel.
  24. A friend of mine with a Black and Decker electric saw did that. I found it most amusing
  25. You can tell them by the fuel and oil caps. They have black plastic screw caps not like Stihl flippy caps.
