  1. No I have 40 acres plus freedom to work adjacent 70acres. They put every possible hurdle in my way, we had two of the wettest summers on record (****** charcoal sales and there was little sympathy), arguments over living wage/self sufficiency, and when I finally had the council on board someone popped up with a load of bollocks about bats being killed by charcoal smoke (nonsense and their evidence was based on kids setting fires in old chalk mines in Norwich and bats suffocating trapped in the workings no connection with charcoal production) This ensured it dragged on for another 3 yrs, fortunately I had a good, honest ecologist. There's other issues as well but it's water under the bridge now
  2. Took me nearly 14yrs to win the right to live in the woods, that's just to stay not to build and I'm not sure if I'd go through it all again!😔 Nearly everything in planning law seems to be down to your LPA's own interpretation of the national planning guidance which can vary wildly!
  3. It's joined where the two sections meet! The section furtherest away in the photo has a small section of roof built on who's gable butts up against the gable of the other section, four bolts do the lot with 32 amp plugs/sockets for leccy. I've put central hating in and put a join in pipe work underside. This pic might better explain join:
  4. Floor to ceiling height is 315 at highest point. It's in two section but a T shape which we lifted into position with a BIG hiab. Each section is 4m wide x 9.5m long exterior. Had a big row with enforcement officer who said it wasn't moveable even though these delta lodges conform to BS standard for mobile homes (ironic as I got it from the councils housing department when they redeveloped a site!) hope this helps!
  5. Nice little birds! I've got to pick up these wee uns from my sister in Wales soon: They will eventually look like this:
  6. Could you not lower the height of the side walls to increase the pitch of the roof? Like this: And from outside:
  7. Lad I work with got new bar from local husky dealer (black writing) said it's harder wearing😀
  8. Car breaker near me replaced is tranny beaver tail with a newer crew cab one, first motor he picked up he was stopped by ministry and was 300kg over with just him n his boy in the cab, sold it immediately!
  9. Thought it was build up of crap under your side casing😀
  10. Yep hav seen em for sale, tarted up, for hundreds of pounds, these r mine:
  11. Sorry shoulda said plus vat! I get the Oregon bio from local dealer in Norfolk and the Clark bio tack is about £2 more but free delivery anywhere in UK We used veg oil from supermarket for a while but apart from increased bar n chain wear it seems to harden onto the saws and be immovable!
  12. Id get em out, I have a few at home and people always comment and want to buy!
  13. It baffles me why anyone would use anything other than bio oil, a high proportion of it ends up on the ground. When doin woodland work we often use 25lt a week (oilers turned down) that's a fair bit of oil to be speeding round. I pay 48£ for 25lt Oregon bio and similar for Clark forests bio. Used engine oil urgh😖
  14. That guy was swinging the scythe more like an axe (good song though)
  15. Going to see this LA outfit in Norwich soon, electric atmosphere live:

  18. Yeah glad you like it, I'm particularly keen on stuff wi brass in regardless of genre with the exception of free jazz (which is a bit too out there)
  19. Got hooked on this lot recently they do some cool videos:
  20. I planted a magnolia in wet clay and it just languished like yours so a moved it to a freer draining spot and it immediately perked up and has grown a lot in the last 3 yrs

  22. I've just been offered the above with a blown up Perkins lump for 500 and know of another good engine (on a compressor) for similar money. Just wondering if people think its worth doin purely for profit, presume it'd be worth about 3k+ once done? Watched a couple of vids on the toob and they seem a little slow compared with my entec chipit 35.
  23. I use Schlich tree planting spade from Stanton Hope, mostly hedge planting in heavy clay
  24. I use my scafells for leisure as well as work, good way of wearing them in😀
  25. Good work, I don't think the vertical plate n slot would be over doing it as it nice n simple.😀 Noticed you said larch had been down a while, so was wondering how long larch is usable for if left laying in the round in the wood (or a stack for that matter)?
