Hi there is a good book called chainsaw lumber making by will malof not sure about the spelling in it is shown how to make a remote throttle I am sure there is a link on arbtalk somewhere to download the book for free as thats how I got mine but being crap with computers cant help , but if you cant find it let me know and I will try and send you a copy of mine somehow good luck Cheers Mark

Hi nice rails if they had some legs on them you could roll a log onto them then jack up with a high lift jack and then you would not be on your knees milling when half way through the log , I have been trying to find time to make one myself for ages and I think rails like yours with legs on would be the way to go Cheers Mark

  6. Hi john you said that you have some oak planks I dont spose you have any first cuts you know round on the one side I am looking for some quite big first cuts and not too far from dorset if you or anybody can help and just out of interest what size are your oak planks and how dry Thanks Mark
  7. Hi yeah no worries just crack on with it what type of cedar , wrc , lebanon etc all very durable outside and ok for a lean to stright from milled , do post some pics and good luck with your build Cheers Mark
  8. Seeing as you have so many planks why not have a go at spalting some by covering in damp sawdust it just seems to speed up what happens naturally Cheers Mark

Hi Mr Spider sorry not much chance of a photo of the underside the school that hads it is closed summer holls but can tell you , just used m12 coach screws and jointers mate polyeurethane wood glue , I do have to deliver some big mushrooms after the holls so will take a pick then if you want Thanks Guys

Hi guys I have a gala tent and I use the last 3rd as demo area I have those red/white plastic barriers and also warning signs ( children must be supervised at all times etc ) but some shows that have space we get a big roped off area , I find most shows have risk assesment on there booking forms but its just mostly common scense Cheers Mark

  16. Hi guys sorry should have given more detail I need a brake cover hopefully without the tool-lesss chain adjuster as it had one but it broke but my mate who does my repairs has told me a normal one will fit , so if anybody out there has a spare brake cover it would be ace Thanks Mark

Hi guys hear is one for you some yrs ago I was next door to an old boy at a craft fair he was making coffee tables and clocks and some of them were made from seria buckeye not sure on the spelling so this wood was just so cool the colours in it yellow black etc been looking for some ever since have any of you lot seen any know where I can get some Thanks Mark

  23. Hi what do you mean kill the saw does saw dust get in the carb and maybe the barrel thus f-----g it up , as I have noticed my cardboard air filter filling up with sawdust do you think a sthil dealer would be able to get me the other type cant afford to kill my big saw Cheers Mark
  24. Hi I paid 1250quid for my 880 and that was the best price I could find so I would think thats what you should be looking at an ace bit of kit just wish I could get round to useing it a bit more often Cheers Mark
