  1. Hi MattyF that looks like a nice setup you've got there. Can you tell me which bits make up the system, where you got them and which knots you used to put it together? Is the figure 8 thingy attached to working end of rigging rope with a steel krab?
  2. Wait til insurance period ends then get another insurer - can't be doing with that. Don't cancel in middle of insurance year they will penalize you.
  3. If you travel to company yard then head out your working hours are from when you turn up at the yard to when you leave the yard same as a 9 to 5 so hours you spend sitting in the truck ARE part of your working hours as an employee!! Do you subtract time spent traveling between jobs from your employers wages?? Not fair or legal!
  4. Have to disagree with above posters : 560XP newer models once warm start problems were ironed out are great saws, loads of power, high performance, can't praise enough.
  5. Sounds like you may have a case for co structure dismissal whether you resign or they make you redundant. Have you got home insurance? Oftentimes legal cover for employment disputes is covered in you home insurance as employment disputes would affect paying mortgage etc. check it out.
  6. As wolfie says earlier re import / export of equipment lists, is there any way to import a list of my tools and equipment I already input into Microsoft Excel, in to Arbsafe? Would save duplication of effort inputting every single item to Arbsafe which is very time consuming. Just a thought how to make it more user friendly but appreciate that it may be difficult to get done.
  7. That's some big lumps coming down there good work them up :-)
  8. Soles always get knackered first if you take any care of the leather. Pfanner Tirol Fighter look like the only ones mentioned that have replaceable soles, essential if you want them to last more than a couple of years IMO. They look well stuff and heavy though.
  9. Oh and it has a search function as well brings up all contacts, bank transactions invoices etc for a search term eg customers name or project number.
  10. I use online accounting software called FreeAgent, once you have put customer contact details in and written up and emailed quote to customer it is just a few clicks to convert that estimate to an invoice with payment period of your choice, also can set up to do automatic overdue reminders. You still have to get your invoice numbers right though! It also does many other things like your tax return and auto imports business bank account transactions if you link it. About £20/- per month, 10% off if you get a user discount code from an existing user, pm me if interested.
  11. Agree with Mikeh. Saw a guy called Patrick Turk on country file a couple of months ago doing chainsaw milling - Googled him and his website is: http://www.forest2furniture.co.uk/11327.html He's got a brochure on there with prices for his pieces - some are £thousands, most are over £1,000
  12. Rigging aside, I would definitely anchor your climbing rope to two different stems when using double rope technique, because pollard junctions DO fail, I've had it happen.
  13. @tommer9 good to get a second opinion on things snything that serves to shed light on the truth of how things really are has got to be a good thing thumb up
  14. Rubbish, pay to get a phone number then go do a quote and find out the average job is like taking 3 conifers down they expect you to do it for like £100. You've then both wasted your time and paid rated people money to have your time wasted. Rubbish!
  15. I think there is a difference between "registered" and "licensed" too can anyone on here enlighten us?
  16. Hi Sean all the best mate stay strong we're all rooting for you.

  18. Good on you lads keep up the good work :-)
  19. Large old army tent or piece of tent green heavy canvas from army surplus store very weatherproof and tough £20/- to £50- heavy though...
  20. This rocks ! Bit if a problem how to carry chip & wood though, unless customer keeps all of it :-)
