    Saving water

Only just found/seen your photos, thanks for posting them No worries on the quality of your toilet.... Looks posh to me! (I had a bucket n chuck it compost toilet in a shed for a couple of years/ lotsa spiders lurked in there!) Your setup looks pretty complicated. Did you consider raising the rainwater collection tank and having larger diameter pipes feeding into the cistern?....ie, completely gravity fed and without the electrics. Cheers, steve
  2. Good man, respect to you for apologising, many wouldn't
  3. Have you found any companies making a bandsaw equivalent of the Alaskan chainsaw mill? ...ie, working on the same principles/ being easily portable, etc
  4. Oh dear, best not mention this thread on your CV matey ....and to summarise today's lesson in communication with fellow human beings "Patience is a virtue" (which means 'be patient, it's good to be patient'). Hope this helps
  5. Have the police done anything?, and has the seller been reported to eBay?
  6. The BBC forecast said "sun all day today".... so I was half way through servicing the car and then it rained quite heavily a couple of times. Chilly wind as well. But regardless of the rubbish weather prediction; the car is now fully serviced
  7. Yay! Good, great and grand to hear this
  8. Really sorry for you mate. Is worth posting a photo here if you have one so we can all keep a look out for it.
  9. A paper clip to manually eject the computer CD draw.
  10. Haha, most important question to ask yourself is "dya like the colour?"
  11. (Nothing kinky) ....are the police or ebay actually doing anything about getting the guy in hand cuffs?
  12. A paper clip as a cotton bud.
  13. Looking at this picture, and judging by the sticker that he couldn't be bothered to remove, I think this ebay probably originated from Honey Brothers
  14. Wales next....
  15. Have you tried contacting LANTRA? Not sure if they can help you with direct training, but maybe they can help with contacts?.... Lantra - Lantra | Contact us | Sector Skills Council | training | business
  16. As much as i like listening to music, just enjoying the natural sounds in the woods gives me plenty enough joy..... and thats where using hand tools, Silky saws, Austrian scythe, etc really comes into it's own.
  17. Not sure on the long term affects on the soil health, but it is a very good question to ask. The main problems we've had in our woods has been as a result of lack of maintenance of historic drainage ditches & bunds.... this has lead to soil washing out/ amplified with this seasons heavy rains. Coupling the heavy rainfall with the repetitive strong winds has resulted in numerous wind blown trees.... about a dozen for us so far, including some pretty big ones. The ditch work we've carried out so far has already made a positive difference to the soil waterlogging (quite a big task). I have no doubt it will be of benefit to the woodland in the long term. Cheers, steve
  18. I've been on an open day/ course with a reputable stove company and was told any wood is fine to burn ....BUT ONLY if it's properly seasoned. Also apparently it's good to leave Oak outside without a cover so that the rain can wash out the tannins; oak needs a 4 to 5 year seasoning cycle (in our area). cheers, steve

  21. Haha, classic! How many times didya re-sharpen your chain for that beast?
  22. No, I've not tried holding a chainsaw at head height and contacted the 'kickback zone' with the rear section of the tree as demonstrated at 4mins 59secs. And you sir, are you smitten with this technique?
  23. He also said "much lower down"
