  1. I haven't and I've read others dont recommend it either. I went for the Sugihara Light Pro 18" as my biggest bar, but not used it yet.
  2. Great stuff - and great thread. Are you planning on cladding the sides of the field shelter with timber, or infilling with something else? cheers
  3. I think the equivalent would be the 550xp and 560xp.
  4. It's worth comparing the Husqvarna equivalent saws, and also have a read of Stihls online sales policy.
  5. Oh well, at least it's not costing you £12.95 to return them + £10 for the next size to be posted back again!.... Thats the trouble with not having local stockists.
  6. Cheers for the feedback, good to hear they fit perfectly Is that the same size as your previous Meindl's? ....and how does the size compare with other footwear companies?
  7. Nice idea, not used one, but the speed looks like waiting for treacle to dry
  8. Click the Arbtrader link at the top/ right of this thread - then you'll know how to find it in the future
  9. For new you'd struggle to beat any of the prices from the shops that advertise on this forum. Worth keeping a look out on Arbtrader (thats the arbtalk classified ads).
  10. No worries. Cheers.
  11. Main site. I dont like having to open up lots of apps, prefer to open multiple tabs up in a browser for faster navigation.
  12. ....dump your dial up, is much quicker with broadband.
  13. I wouldnt personally consider ebay as a very good place to look, its too risky to pick up a duff saw or possibly fake, in my opinion. Certainly wouldnt buy anything without seeing/ checking it in person.
  14. Got any photos? cheers
  15. Not sure is somebody has already mentioned this? (using an ipad via safari browser) ....only possible to upload single photos.
  16. Dya mean the water table?
  17. Yes I thought the very same. Not 100% sure it's lichen yet but Pertusaria amara (images of British lichens) could be a good shout.... although could also be Pertusaria hemisphaerica (images of British lichens) May have to give the tree a lick to see if it tastes bitter, and hopefully not be seen!
  18. Yes, will do.
  19. Lovely thankyou. I guess it could me some kind of lichen. I'll drop an email to Robin....
  20. Dont forget that Government has run for a very long time. ....there's not alot of truly natural UK landscape out there; take the Lake District as one tiny example (it's supposed to be covered in trees/ not sheep). There has been a long running opportunity for UK gov to influence the Great Outdoors. But politics is all (well, mostly all) about alpha~male ego and Show Me The Money. Blame them all the way!!
  21. You're speaking a whole lot of sense there mate We've already lost so much habitat, & thus wildlife.... EVERYTHING out there seems to be in decline (apart from buzzards). Just one example; I haven't seen a hedgehog for years Sad times in so many ways & .govUK is an utter shambles
  22. This old oak tree in our village has this huge white streak - what is it? Cheers, Steve
  23. Personally I believe it's a good article & the right way forwards, and it needs doing on a massive scale. Here's my vote to planting many thousands of trees and having hundreds of miles of proper thick hedges instead of the pathetic unmanaged gappy field boundaries that are infilled in with posts & barbed wire as a quick fix It's also a great opportunity to get hundreds of people into outdoor work.
