  1. Nice skateboard
  2. I nearly didn't buy one... but really glad I did. Saves time/ energy/ & helps to work safer. All good Cheers, Steve
  3. Yep, used the Woodchuck for the first time today on a 2.5ft wide fallen hornbeam + on a hung up Abies Grandis. ....and with the extra leverage I felt like Arnie Schwartzenagr! (spellcheck that). Cheers,
  4. Is your starting problem just from cold? Will see how mine continues and let you know.... Cheers, Steve
  5. Finally got to firing up my new 550xpg today.... Took me ages to get it to start, about 30 pulls! Then it fired, smoked a bit, cleared itself and then attacked some chunky hornbeam (made a load of slithers) for 3 minutes, followed by 2.5ft hornbeam trunk. Refuelled, tightened chain, then moved on to a windblown (& hung up) Abies Grandis. Zipped through that like butter! Apart from the initial starting problem, it's been ace; an amazing lightish saw with surprising power. Looking forwards to using the Sugihara 18" blade on it....
  6. Good stuff, cheers Jon
  7. Where did you get the foot? Definitely would like to get one of those
  8. Bloody brilliant! Bargain at £88 Products for the category: Forestry equipment
  9. Here we go again!....I saw that advert, next minute I bought quite a few things from Rob at Chainsawbars ? chainsaw chains, chainsaw bars and chainsaw accessories ....like it or loathe it; as an advert it works very well (gets people talking), drives visitors to the website. That's the 'nature' of advertising. Cheers, Steve
  10. Yep, doesn't get more rustic than this! Some have been pulled out of a swampy area next to the brook.... could be many 1,000's of years old! I'm hoping critters and bugs might like to live on the wibbly wobbly wood and eat the aphids (aphids enjoy buggering up roses).
  11. Bloody heck, that really ain't good!! Glad you are safe & I expect it's played on your mind. Cheers Steve
  12. Not made any pegs yet but I have got a nice collection of wibbly wobbly oak branches, here's some of them....
  13. Mostly nice n sunny here today, had a few showers and one of them was very sudden almost like flicking a switch....within a few seconds it went from being really calm to full howling wind & lashing rain, weird.
  14. Hadn't thought of that.... I'll apply to the Planning Department to turn it into a toll bridge, and put a sign up: Wood mice: 50p Foxes: £1.50 Badgers: £3.50
  15. Lovely ferns, now at ground level for easy viewing....
  16. We've had a few big oaks snap off at the top, like this one. The main trunk looks fairly, er, simple! without so many branches.... what are the chances of getting regrowth?
  17. Thought of this thread when I went for a walk through our woods today and found this amazing old oak that fell across the brook (must have happened many years ago). There's no sign of the roots being exposed... it looks like it twisted the bank of soil over. The original lower branch is now the main canopy! ....the old canopy branches appear to have rooted themselves as well and are growing happily. The photos here don't do it justice, but hopefully you get the idea. Cheers Steve
  18. Wow! Nice to see an honest seller on ebay, could do with more of those!
  19. Haha! Hilarious.
  20. Haha, that's great, good share. I was waiting for a vertical plunge cut at head height.
  21. What are you bumping for?
  22. Ah that's good - and hopefully not the last load due to ending up in the ditch.
