  1. Not sure is somebody has already mentioned this? (using an ipad via safari browser) ....only possible to upload single photos.
  2. Dya mean the water table?
  3. Yes I thought the very same. Not 100% sure it's lichen yet but Pertusaria amara (images of British lichens) could be a good shout.... although could also be Pertusaria hemisphaerica (images of British lichens) May have to give the tree a lick to see if it tastes bitter, and hopefully not be seen!
  4. Yes, will do.
  5. Lovely thankyou. I guess it could me some kind of lichen. I'll drop an email to Robin....
  6. Dont forget that Government has run for a very long time. ....there's not alot of truly natural UK landscape out there; take the Lake District as one tiny example (it's supposed to be covered in trees/ not sheep). There has been a long running opportunity for UK gov to influence the Great Outdoors. But politics is all (well, mostly all) about alpha~male ego and Show Me The Money. Blame them all the way!!
  7. You're speaking a whole lot of sense there mate We've already lost so much habitat, & thus wildlife.... EVERYTHING out there seems to be in decline (apart from buzzards). Just one example; I haven't seen a hedgehog for years Sad times in so many ways & .govUK is an utter shambles
  8. This old oak tree in our village has this huge white streak - what is it? Cheers, Steve
  9. Personally I believe it's a good article & the right way forwards, and it needs doing on a massive scale. Here's my vote to planting many thousands of trees and having hundreds of miles of proper thick hedges instead of the pathetic unmanaged gappy field boundaries that are infilled in with posts & barbed wire as a quick fix It's also a great opportunity to get hundreds of people into outdoor work.
  10. oh yes of course!.... it's the postage doing that.... I ordered lots of stuff from ChainsawBars in one hit so didnt bother to account for the postage. FR Jones is free postage over £50 ....maybe this is something for Rob to consider?
  11. Weird, my 550xp 18" Sugihara Lightweight Pro bar is exactly the same price at FR Jones and ChainsawBars (£70.80 inc vat). I used F R Jones for the bulk of my order (their web prices and service are top notch) but I also wanted to spread my order to Rob@chainsawbars.... he's been really good at sharing advice/ answering questions on the forum.
  12. Nice comment, thanks for that, but please can people refrain from posting STIHL chainsaws on MY thread.... Yours sincerely Steve Husky
  13. Ordered a bunch of stuff from Rob at Chainsaw Bars and he sent a great freebie, then I carried on looking through the order and found another freebie! So thats Two free freebies!! and both very useful. p.s.... not had a chance to use it yet, but the Woodchuck Dual Cant Hook looks very solid & well made.
  14. For all non-chainsaw duties I've been walking through puddles with Dunlop Purofort safety wellies. Using them for everything.... very comfy straight out of the box & with good tread. £50 ish
  15. In reality, i believe you'll find the size 43 airstreams, are a size 42 in the real world. Lets wait n see!....
  16. Well let us know your thoughts!.... return postage is @£12.95 with Royal Mail
  17. So it appears 2 or 3 years have lapsed and the same problem still occurs. Should send this thread to Meindl technical dept.
  18. This ones got in built chainsaw protection to 80m/s chain speed
  19. Make sure it's got a good chin strap system, don't forget the wind. Hope this helps
  20. Do husqvarna make umbrellas?
  21. Dont get me wrong.... the boots look amazing just need to get the right size. I'll post back here to report when the next size up arrives.
  22. And a quarter of each toe
