  1. Thats a bit annoying as I was told they were a standard EU fit. Oh well, hopefully others may read this thread before ordering via postal. cheers
  2. Yeah I've heard people mention that. We used to use Wynns engine flush at a Peugeot/ Citroen main dealership - in all the years I was there we didnt have a single problem with it (hundreds of oil flushes/ including in some very old cars).
  3. I had a pair of Meindl Airstream boots delivered today and they look superb - tried them on and found them much too tight (toes stubbing at the front).... unfortunately I've had to send them back to try the next size up. Bit of a pain as I couldnt find anyone stocking them near me (to try them on before buying) & Royal Mail is a rip off!....@£12.95 to send them back. I'm normally Euro 41 but having to exchange them for a Euro 42. Has anyone else found the Meindl Airstream sizes on the small side? cheers, steve
  4. Step 1: made my first greenwood mallet today, to wack the froe with (from a single piece of hornbeam - tools used; hand saw, small axe, stanley knife). It weighs in at 1.8kg
  5. Oh dear, one minute you're slipping down clay slopes, next thing this! I'd pop in some engine oil flush and drain it nice and hot (comes out like a cow having a pee).
  6. Yep, will take pictures as I go and plonk them on here
  7. Like that vice idea, think I'll be doing the same. Thanks for the info Alec, i've learnt alot about pegs
  8. It's just oil... !! What's going on with this policy now?.... been trying to order Stihl two stroke engine oil online and some shops have a restriction in place whilst others don't. I eventually ordered some through the bay, but it's also available on amazon (albeit at a higher price).
  9. Looks a bit baggy sided to me. I'd exchange them.
  10. Totally get it now....
  11. Ah! I think i get it now.... sounds like banging a square peg into a round hole, with the tapered point to help get it started. Something like this:
  12. hmmm, not so sure about that... none of my local dealers stocked what i wanted anyway. I think they have every opportunity to get things ordered in, and compete on price.
  13. I'm looking at cutting the pegs out of green oak, don't they need to dry out for a while. ie, in airing cupboard as mentioned earlier.
  14. Sorry but I'm confused! You say the peg doesn't need to be bigger than the hole, yet the wood fibres of the peg are compressed when you bang it through the plate? I really am confused!!
  15. Thankyou for this Says they do.... Emergency First Aid at Work for Forestry Price includes course fee with HSE Certification £75.00 Sounds a reasonable price. Ideally i would like to find something similar to that a bit closer to home, in Pembrokeshire. + cheers, just sent you a message via your website Greig
  16. Probably didnt explain my question very well.... what i mean is: How much bigger should the peg be than the hole? eg, 10% ish? 20% ish?

Hornets, yargh!! You made me shiver. HATE THEM.... Delete this thread!!
  18. I know very little about pro first aid but what you've said makes good sense to me. Where's a good place to go for training? (South Wales).
  19. Bad choice of font
  20. Cheers guys. Like the compressed peg solution. How much smaller should the hole in the plate be in relation to the peg?
  21. I'd like to find out more about arbaid; the arb aid website is geing developed at the moment so not sure what's available? Arb Aid FR Jones has some basic stuff on their site here, including emergency blood clotting: First aid, safety & knives | F R Jones and Son
  22. All my local dealers couldnt get close to the well known arb suppliers (as advertised on this forum). Shame not to use local business but the price difference is just too much. Having said that I do use a couple of local dealers regularly for other things/ red diesel, tool hire, clothing etc. There's no shame in trying to keep the wolf from the door.
  23. What are your thoughts on the balance of it?
  24. Thats another great idea! The TV MUST GO NEXT Nearly there....
  25. Is that the 18" bar? Damn that looks nice!
