  1. hmmm, not so sure about that... none of my local dealers stocked what i wanted anyway. I think they have every opportunity to get things ordered in, and compete on price.
  2. I'm looking at cutting the pegs out of green oak, don't they need to dry out for a while. ie, in airing cupboard as mentioned earlier.
  3. Sorry but I'm confused! You say the peg doesn't need to be bigger than the hole, yet the wood fibres of the peg are compressed when you bang it through the plate? I really am confused!!
  4. Thankyou for this Says they do.... Emergency First Aid at Work for Forestry Price includes course fee with HSE Certification £75.00 Sounds a reasonable price. Ideally i would like to find something similar to that a bit closer to home, in Pembrokeshire. + cheers, just sent you a message via your website Greig
  5. Probably didnt explain my question very well.... what i mean is: How much bigger should the peg be than the hole? eg, 10% ish? 20% ish?

Hornets, yargh!! You made me shiver. HATE THEM.... Delete this thread!!
  7. I know very little about pro first aid but what you've said makes good sense to me. Where's a good place to go for training? (South Wales).
  8. Bad choice of font
  9. Cheers guys. Like the compressed peg solution. How much smaller should the hole in the plate be in relation to the peg?
  10. I'd like to find out more about arbaid; the arb aid website is geing developed at the moment so not sure what's available? Arb Aid FR Jones has some basic stuff on their site here, including emergency blood clotting: First aid, safety & knives | F R Jones and Son
  11. All my local dealers couldnt get close to the well known arb suppliers (as advertised on this forum). Shame not to use local business but the price difference is just too much. Having said that I do use a couple of local dealers regularly for other things/ red diesel, tool hire, clothing etc. There's no shame in trying to keep the wolf from the door.
  12. What are your thoughts on the balance of it?
  13. Thats another great idea! The TV MUST GO NEXT Nearly there....
  14. Is that the 18" bar? Damn that looks nice!
  15. Only fixing the PC tower because it has a working CD drive. We have two Macbook Pros and both have had the cd drives fail. Apple certainly aint what it used to be, the reliability is a real issue, especially for the megabucks money. My Powerbook Pismo (G3 laptop) is still working, whilst my recent macbook pro died, says it all. Anyway, nevermind all that, its just technology..... and on that bombshell, look at what i've done with the microwave (for constantly beeping at us)
  16. Dya know what.... that thought has crossed my mind a few times today! Seriously did!!
  17. My homemade bread needs a chainsaw to get a slice, nice idea Planning on getting the 18" Sugihara lite bar, been chatting to Rob at Chainsaw Bars about that
  18. Haha! SUBTLE!
  19. My first plan was to get something second hand and then noticed how high priced they tend to go for + the risk of buying a bad saw put me off. I did phone a bloke up who sells loads of used saws on the bay, but his cocky attitude really put me off (thats his loss). I think it's worth saving the extra and getting a spanky new one with a warranty. If you're skint just keep using the Silky for longer and keep saving over a longer period.... thats what I did. Actually, it amazes me how much work I've got done with the Silky. Gonna keep using it to save on fuel, and noise.
  20. Had a macbook pro and it melted, get a Stihl??.... get a life!! (wrote this on an ipad)
  21. Hope it doesnt spill into tommorow, aaaaaargh!!!!
  22. Well my first ever chainsaw arrived today; freshly delivered by the F R Jones enterprise. Trouble is, getting the bleedin' crappy computer to work has taken the whole day up. But I did manage to give myself 5 mins to try on the Stein Freddy Krieger trousers (very comfy) and break open the Husky box. But unfortuntely, overall, the final score for today is: Windows XP, one..... Husky 550xpg, nil
  23. Thanks Alec. Think I'll start making some pegs right now and bring them indoors to dry out.
  24. My non internet, non camera phone battery lasts at least 5 days and it cost £nil pounds and nil pence
  25. I just get anything thats going free because i always drown the damn things. None of my mobiles have ever had inbuilt cameras or internet Might get an iPigeon next
