  1. That's sounds great. Nice piece of fillet I'd hope. Make sure he stops at the chip shop on the way maybe a pot of mushy peas and a squirt of English mustard.
  2. I would advise you have someone on the ground that can perform aerial rescue and perform 1st Aid. This is not a joke think about it! I'm guessing no insurance either. God I hate sounding like an old fart and I'm only 32. F**k it good luck lad. Lol
  3. No target risk would be too high. It would be advised to fell from me.
  4. The likley hood is that if they want the limb off despite you offering expert advice that they'll get someone to take it off. Always advise best practice but if someone's insistent and your not brutalising the whole tree Then take the work. We all have bills to pay. I'd think that being chestnut as well it would put more energy into a shed load of epicormic growth at this time of year. Then they'll call someone else in to cut off the limb as they think your to precious about it.
  5. Hi Sean great news the love and support is here from one and all mate we all wish you the speediest and best recovery possible man. Nothing beats the love of a good woman and you seem to have a blinder. Look forward to reading about the mischief you get Upto once your up and about. Take care dude.
  6. Sorry didn't realise it was on the wood craft its a burl which is a knotty type growth. Very nice patterning inside if your lucky a turner may give you £20.
  7. Post it up on the woodcraft forum mate. Someone may give you a drink for it.
  8. I burn it in my stove I find anything coniferous burns well once seasoned and it generates a lot of heat. The best advice anyone selling firewood should be giving there customers is to sweep the chimney flu regularly. Just calculate what each log is worth once split roughly in the area between 15-25p per log perhaps more I'm not in log sales. Workout from there wether you'll make a profit after labour extraction.
  9. Yes it is the m-tronic don't worry. However if you want a 2015 saw then you'll prob have to request it directly from Stihl most places even when they order stock in 2015 will come as a 2014 model at mo.
  10. Hi Sean although I don't know you just thought I'd post again and say hope your doing ok today mate and keep up the good spirits. We are all following your progress and wish you best recovery possible.
  11. Ms 261 would suffice nice medium saw easy to handle and can take on the slightly larger if necessary. In my opinion a hell of a lot of saw for the money for an occasional user that with regular maintenance will last a life time.
  12. Sort it out mate. Really unnecessary everyone appreciates the hard work doctors nurses and all other services our country provides. It was clearly made in jest. Ps. It's not a free service its paid for by part of our taxes.
  13. Although a stranger prayers are with you to as quicker recovery as possible mate.
  14. The reason I personally have a connection with Stihl is down to the fact I've worked with them for 20yrs i recommend the 441 it was the new model in comparison with the 044 we have had an 044 from new out almost daily up the trees on the ground with me carving for hours on end since 1997 it's still going strong same plug same power best saw stihls made with regard to reliability in my opinion. The 035 and the like range was always known to us as the farmers saw cheaper because it never saw the work the 044 did.
  15. Just out of interest what sort of size carvings are you looking at blocking out? If it was big blocking I'd put some more money in and go for a Ms 441 Other wise if it's small to medium size an Ms 261 would be my choice.
  16. Don't think there was any offence meant here merely seems to be saying that it might be an Idea to purchase a carving setup down to the fact that you were saying you'd need 1 to do a carving that your wife wants judging by what you've created with your standard bar with a carving bar you'll have no trouble. Good job on the carving by the way.
  17. Leave it its jokes someone will love it.
  18. If any fellow arb talkers hit up a bit call of duty on the ps4 then they should be able to appreciate this bad boy is a killing machine.
  19. Haha yeah no if we are dreaming of things like that I'd have it remote controlling my drone with chainsaw attachment.
  20. Thought I'd share my new toy.
  21. Not sure your doing a diploma. Possibly a 12 week course to give you practical level 3 Nptc certificates.
  22. Just out of interest where are you studying your level 3 diploma in arboriculture. Only ask as I wasn't aware of anywhere that starts at this time of year. Thought it all kicked off in September.
