  1. The poster has already explained about his reasoning and covered that he felt all was safe with the windblown tree,DART are a none paying service that has to relay on funding and charity to carry out there work so not what this guy is looking for,as said no call for what he is asking in this country..if he is single and no commitments he is best Canada or the states, big trees can’t comment on pay structure.
  2. Hi Nat?be nice to see more woman in the industry,I have a woman who groundies for me on weekends and when have bigger jobs on and she is as good if not better then any man or lad I have used somwould be good to see more woman coming into the industry. As far as your PPE is concerned try the Arbortec Breathflex and Breathflex Pro range of chainsaw trousers.i work for Arbortec and at the APF we sold a lot of type A’s to lots of woman as they are light and great fit.All the best and hope all works out for you.

    5 Shires Tree Surgery

  4. Thanks for asking but am way past all that now, have been running my own set up for many years now,all I can say is if you are ever stuck for someone who know s what they are doing to run a few jobs or oversee some work you want doing just let me know, may be in a few years if you need someone on board who knows how to run a team or three give me a shout.
  5. I know of beddows tree surgery as I have known lads who have worked for them and as far as I know they are a well organised set up with all the up to date equipment.obviously can’t say or comment on in house rules and how great staff but have always only ever herd good things.i know if I was a young climber who is looking to Improve his or her work skills and earn a decent day rate I wouldn’t hesitate to take the job. hope you find your ideal candidate.
  6. Ty had my 150p for around 6 months now and very pleased with it all how you described but not to fussed bout stree controversy being a bit sensitive, like how the chassis is over engineered not like the Timberwolf new 230 were I believe they have had a bit of trouble.i didn’t know you could have a rack for the Shute?was not given that option.but must admit the whole machine is great value the design is fab.
  7. I’ll be there all 3 days working for ARBORTEC come and say hello and check out the ARBORTEC RANGE.
  8. Give it a Crown Lift,Remove first 3 Lower Limbs then do 30% to 40% Reduction and thin out, tree will still look fine but less volume and canopy.
  9. I don’t think it was rigged,it looks like just a rope to pull it over,I can’t see any rigging gear coming from any other tree or the one he is climbing,,,lucky bastard though that could have been a life changing accident.
  10. I don’t have to justify to anyone of you on here why and what I charge..and if you look I said between £500 and £700 which means from lower price to higher price..3 days for above amounts is good going...still leaves 2 days to earn more..lots don’t earn £500/£700 in a week. the guy asked for some help pricing for a hedge job..and when someone gives him a price everyone jumps on the negative bandwagon..no wonder so many are leaving Arbtalk.
  11. Hedge Cutting for tree surgeons is bread and butter work,£500 to £700 price range is we’re he should be...take max 3 full days and with arising staying on site makes the job more easy..£500 min £700 max.if your not happy with earning the above money for 3days work Something is seriously wrong.
  12. As already said between price range around £500 to £700. Crack on with price and take it from there.simpels.
  13. Have been doing a Beech hedge similar length but in 3 different sections for the last 15yrs and always in the second week of August. one section is around a mixed boarder with perennial plants,by annuals, small shrubs etc which takes a fair amount of time to cut and clear, the rest is around lawn areas and some scrambling under and thorough fruit trees. Like I said I have been doing same hedge for many years, all cuttings remain on site,I do it on my own working from the ground and from 4mtr tripod ladders. i always leave a week to do it cause the location is amazing and Its one of those chill out jobs in a beautiful location and always worked on a price. when I started I was charging £500 no matter how long it took because there was never any time scale.over the years the hedge has got slightly bigger I now charge £700. never a problem with costing has the clients know that the hedge is done correctly. so to Answer your question your should be looking at between £500 to £700 job and finish at your discretion.
  14. Young Aspen...as they get older the bark changes to more rutted type texture.
  15. Damm...worth a try...cheers for that Steve and of course if all around on the Saturday would be nice for the winners to have a beer or 3 ?
  16. Hi Steve lovely jubbly thanks...think will go on Saturday 4th when the timbersports comp is on...did you say all the winners get a new MS661?
  17. Hi Steve hope all good with you and all, well you know what they say...you got to be in it to win it..hope I got the right answer..have never won f—-k all in a raffle or anything in my life...always a first time?
  18. Ummm let me think..would it be the MS661-CM
  19. Can I ask how big was the eucalyptus.? And how much did you ask for?was it a return trip or were you already on site with all your gear?oopps sorry just seen cost’s etc..if as you say he is an electrician and may be self employed he will know how to play the game, take what he is prepared to pay before you get fuck all, walk away and put it on the exspierance locker and learn from it,Gurentee you won’t make the same mistake ever again.we have all been there and done exactly the same thing.
  20. Life is that simple..just have an opinion on what you think is Wright and what is wrong...cause 9 times out of 10 there is nothing you or I can do about it and it’s not worth the time and effort and worry trying to make a difference.live your life the best way you can, meet interesting people,be kind and understanding, make a living at what you love and do best..and stay healthy simple
  21. Uummmmmm..ya ok..your far to intellectual for me,fancy wording and such..sometimes you can over analyse things,my generation looks at things more simply and in Black and white.keep it simple as in life.
  22. Money as always been the biggest incentive in politics as in any other walk of life..people who have power and have come from nothing can be brought...one thing about trump he can’t be and that’s why he can do and say as he pleases..and in my view and only my opinion I think that’s a good thing and a breath of fresh air.i wish he was running our country right now for many reasons and we certainly wouldn’t have been pissing about for 2 years with brexit..he would have sorted that the day after we voted to leave.
  23. Morning John good to hear from you and hope yourself and the family are all good, yes chipper working well and no problems, except I’ve only had it 1/2 a year but looks like had it for 2,doesn’t take long for them to get hammered no matter how hard you try to look after them.and it’s definitely earning its keep.
