  1. Am I seeing the same machine???? If so it's just sold for £510 WTF
  2. Yep real nice set up and I guess what we all aspire to be,probably £90k/£100k just for the mog and Chipper...agree with the sliver and black...thought my little truck & Chipper looked nice until I saw that? But that's on a totally different level.
  3. I would beval the edges and flatten the and either stain or oil the top to show the grain as much as I could and have a glass top made to sit on top and make a small bistro table for 2. I would have wrought iron legs made in a modern design with 2 chairs to match and put neutral coloured coushions on the chairs.Done correctly it would look very smart and different
  4. Thanks for reply Ian I agree the stop bar is very urgent but spose it's better that way...Thing is if we all liked the same Chipper as in anything there wouldn't be any others to choose...I did look at all options as the sub 750kg Chipper choice is were the money is..I did like the forst but on looks alone the new 150p is such a nice design and with 37hp unit and weight still well under 750kg..710kgbi think it's still lighter enough to move around by one person...I will give a honest and frank review when I have used it for a few hours.
  5. All sounds pretty good...didn't know bout the altitude thing...can't see much use for it but there you go...it's a lot of Chipper for not much money compared to other sub 750kg machines it's well under the timberwolf 230 and forst st..
  6. Has nobody had or used the new GM 150p?? Ok looks like down to me to get a review on here next week sometime?
  7. Well that's how it used to be in the good old days...the cheapest wasn't always the best....you need to look at the infrastructure and have a direct work force who work for you on the books and not subbed out and broken down to wafer thin margins.christ listen to me,I sound like Gordon Geko?
  8. A combination of things but ultimately it comes down to who runs the company ...if your or my business went tits we would have to look no further then ourselves because we are accountable at the end of the day and all said and done.
  9. Yep..undercut everyone else used to be how it was but the difference with carillon they knew for some reason they would clear up on winning the contracts so could put in a think of a number price and double it and still get it..something smells very fishy...let's not hold our breath to find out the truth?
  10. May be but these money people don't start dumping shares without good reason, and if that was the case who gave them the heads up...???? I hope it doesn't get swept under the carpet it stinks and similar to the bank crisis and they said it would happen again...seriously this country is run by people who couldn't run a corner sweet shop.
  11. I really think that if your are allowed to do so and given a free hand to do what you like things spiral out of control with out you being in control,it's like a runaway train,I don't think for one minute the people at the top of carillon had any intention of running it into the ground, but I do think they didn't know how to put the breaks on and spot what was going on until to late and didn't have the guts to stand up and say anything.i know for a fact carillion have been going cap in hand to the government for a couple of years on the quiet, the government have been keeping them afloat for ages but they have come to the trough once to often and the government have said no more which is why it has gone straight into liquidation before administration which is what normally happens..I totally agree Small is best, the other problem carillion had was most of the work was subbed out at source and they were getting there money upfront while there suppliers etc had the shit of having to wait 90 to 120 days..not saying all but the majority were waiting for payment and even then not getting the full payment cause of some legal loophole which carillion would use.lets get it back to one man one job...how can one company seriously give a first class service when they have all there fingers in all the pies..wankers..feel for the workers but not the company,I hope the likes of MacAlpine,Tarmac,Laing and all those great company's carillion pissed on are Ha being a little chuckle to themselves.?
  12. That should have said doubt any of the culprits will be held accountable and will walk away with golden handshakes etc.
  13. Following up on my thread last weekreference Carillion going tits, well as we all know now it's happened and was inevitable really,so my question is has anyone on Arbtalk been affected in any way shape or form and if so to what degree,it's a shameful episode and a disgrace this has been allowed to happen....some one needs to be held accountable for what's gone on and if you go higher enough there is always someone who agrees the contracts and signs the cheques.a lot of ordinary working peoples pensions will be affected but I doubt any of the main culprits will walk away with golden handshakes or even worse have squirrelled away thousands cause they knew this was coming long before it happens.funny how they have gone straight into liquidation?????
  14. Hi GA yes I did all my ground work before deciding on which Chipper to go for last year and even though every man and his dog were going for the forst and good old timberwolf I just liked the look and build of the greenmech and even though the 130 is an entry level Chipper if works and feed correctly in the manner it is made to it is for its size and power a great little Chipper so to go up a bigger engine size to the 150p was a no brainer and as you say the shape is so modern and looks the business and much more pleasing to the eye then the square end of the 150 diesel.i didn't up grade to put bigger materials in just less stress and quicker through put then the 130.must say I would have liked them to stick to the Honda unit rather then the Briggs & Stratton but I guess these guys know what there doing.?
  15. I looked at all the figures on the 150p Ty and although they mite not have all the numbers correct the difference in engine size and power compared to the 24hp means I won't be putting it under as much stress as I will only be pushing same size materials though, just more of it...seems to make sense to me..but I could be wrong..lokking forward to seeing how she goes though.?
  16. Thank you for that john and yes of course I will..and by judging by the response I don't think there will be many others getting one just yet.
  17. Damm Steve you've sus'd me out?
  18. Hi john...well I aim to stay small and at my age i'am happy to do so...my main income is garden Design and construction...but played around with the tree side of things since I was small and has always interested me...so 25 yes ago I decided I would add it on to what I do not so much to make money but cause I really injoyed it...but last few years it's gone crazy and have built up a good rep for tree work and am traveling anything up to 60 miles away to do work.brought my first new Chipper last year Arborist 130 and lived it until it got trashed...it was one of the only few things I have ever brought new and I was gutted...so I decided I would trade it in and not lose a great deal of money on it...loved the petrol engine so quiet and good fuel economy but only 24hp I found i needed more power and not necessarily bigger chip capability..so jumped on the 150 and found out that because of the emissions thing Greenmech are doing a petrol 150 with 37hp.cushty.sold and should have delivery this week.am not mechanicly minded so very simple and quiet machine.and Greenmech are 20 min from me.?
  19. Evening all....just a quick question if anyone has used the new greenmech 150p and there thoughts...I have mine coming this week..not having second thoughts at all...only I couldn't have one on Hire as there were none available at the time...had a brand new 130 for a while till it got trashed by low life scum...anyway just thought I would ask if anyone has used one and what are your thoughts on the 37hp petrol engine compared to the I think 35 hp diesel.????
  20. Didn't know you knew silky ?
  21. Well mark what go's around comes around so they say...more info on corillion...they have the administrators on stand by..big meeting today with government, banks, shareholders etc...it's all bollocks. The previous government & this one were still giving them new contracts even though they knew they were in trouble...talk about trying to save face...this is what happens when you work to such tight margins...one mistake and your fucked...I don't feel sorry for any of them..total greed and thinking they were to big to go bump...feel a bit for the pension side of things..only a bit though.
  22. Well here we go again looks like yet another government bail out of a company run by idiots and mismanagement...it never ceases to amaze me how these companies get in such amess...greed is the main reason...most of us on here run our own successful business through hard work and lots of time put in our turn over is in tens of thousands if we are lucky but we survive and make a living, these companies have millions upon millions and still fuck it up...I guess that know the safety net they have is the foto fall back on when the shit hits the fan yet who is there for us when things go wrong..it'll be us bailing these guys out with our hard earned cash..the government should start looking at bringing these contracts back to individual companies and give certain projects to single companies who can concentrate on nothing else...one company controlling the whole thing is an impossibility...and what's happening now just proves it...anyone of us on here could do a better job...I guess there will be people on here who disagree with what I say and come up with a very constructive argument...i'am just saying it has I see it...shame we haven't got Donald Trump for priminister he'll sort it out...?
  23. I thought he was going to tell us silky had turned up?
  24. Really.. that's a new one...well if you make to either see you round the beer section and may be silky will put in an appearance?
  25. Yep it's not looking good...but I think the government will have to save face a bail them out...I just thought a lot more guys on here had ground clearing or tree contacts with them especially with H2O being pushed on.
