  1. Just wondering how many of you guys have contracts or do some or any kind of work for corillion???
  2. Evening john

always good to hear from you and of course always nice to catch up...obviously the big one is the APF and will be there for at least a couple of the days..I have also booked a room at the holford arms for the Arb Show..fed up with putting a tent up for a couple of days and nights..to much hassle..been looking at those tents what fold out over a truck..but to use once a year is not worth the outlay.

anyway have a great spring and see you either may or September?

  3. Like I said he's no one special...end of this thread I guess?
  4. Hi Steve happy new year and hope all good with you and yours....I know you replied to my reply Ref comings and going ref silky but can't access your reply?

  5. Nothing to do with anything else just asking how the guy is and what he's up to..what's the problem with that..???.he's nobody special...just someone we all know..and one minute posting every day for 3years then just disappears....o well never mind.
  6. So are you in touch with him Wickla ? Is it top secret and classified information what he's up to then? If is just tree related it spill the beans as no one else seems to be able to speak to him,and are you at Arb Show again and or APF this year?
  7. Well I do hope he's ok and all is good with him, perhaps he's starting a new chapter in his life and it's good by to ArbTalk...may be it served its purpose to get himself sorted.?
  8. Has he left premier then? Or just taken holiday?have,t seen or herd from him either on here or private since Arb Show?
  9. Well apart from mendip and we all know how that went...the one who has fallen off the the face of the earth is the silkster SILKY FOX...has he gone and got a woman so he don't need us anymore or has he pumped that much iron down the gym he can't lift his phone?Would be nice to see here from him or does anyone know how and we're he is and up to?
  10. To be honest I think the diesel emissions thing is a load of crap and for us who are mid age bracket it won't happen in our life time and if it does who is going to police it..police can't cope with the work load they have now never mind more unless legalisation coming in,unless we have to have our Chippers MOT'T...I've got a new GM150p coming next couple of weeks, nothing to do with petrol v Deisel thing...just like petrol and the 150p will have a 37 HP engine.
  11. Ya I can remember you buying it with your lad...I got a new 130 same time...they try'd to take that as well but couldn't hook it up as greenmech have a ball hitch lock built in..so instead of taking it they decided to jump all over it and break the mudguards off, smash the lights and dent all the panels...enough said..have just traded in for a150p..didn't want too but just felt like they had violated the Chipper and I just didn't want it anymore...stupid really but I like looking after my stuff and they trashed it just for spite...just bout sums these people up I guess.
  12. Hi wolfie hope all good with your health and happiness...did they take your Chipper what you got from the APF Timberwolf wasn't it?..sorry to hear that buddy..I found it's not just a case of getting your money back and by the way I want to give a big shout out to my insurance company Tree Surgery Insurance...they were brilliant and very good..and even though my premium has gone up I will be sticking with them. That is the other roll on your insurance goes up after a claim and you can't replace like for like,it will be like for new and in my case the new stihl chainsaws are no were near as good as the old ones..all my saws were the old 0"s not the new 01"s..As for sign written vechicals it's a choice we make and it does advertise what we do but also generates business when people see it..the guy who has just been done has not only got to replace his gear but look what they have done to his vehicle..it's such a kick in the balls..hope you are back up and running wolfie and our friend whips has just been done..I do work up in Coventry around the banner lane area...will be eleven more on my toes now.
  13. I feel for you mate...I got done in April...and it will only get worse until we take the law into our own hands..and it will happen..the reason why it's getting worse is influx of Eastern Europeans and i don't give a f--k about being politically correct it's a fact..yes obviously our traveling community friends do there fare share but since the gates have been let open its open season on us..it's getting way out of hand now and the government needs to see this problem before we start sorting it out ourselves..these thieving bastards don't give a shit so why should we..it's our property there taking and with a big smile on their faces cause they know nothing will be done by the police except a crime number given out and for us to deal with the fall out.8 moths on and i'am still trying to come to terms with what happened to me...I will go to prison next time because I will deal with it myself..not joking..rant over
  14. Get some coopers and a Ford Ranger to put them on??
  15. Good Evening john...only pulling your leg buddy,,am very well and hope you and your family are all well,,,i for one are grateful for guys like you with all the big gear to do the bigger jobs as it leaves all the smaller jobs for us little guys ?Have Good xmas☃️?And see you next year at the Arb Show and don't forget it's APF time 2018
  16. Christ yeti have you won the frigin lottery or something..a fool and his money are easily parted my friend your looking at 4 years to recoup a serious amount of money..it roughly takes 10 to get established in any kind of new venture..As per my first post just crack on and see we're it take s you and give it your best shot..best of luck, working hard and hands on still has its rewards in this technology based world.
  17. Listen yeti..you sound like you have made your mind up and you come over enthusiastic and want to make a go of it..so it's great seeking advice but you just need to get going as soon as you can and find a different angle then the next guy and stand out from the crowd..just have a plan B in case it blows up in your face and if it does last a year you have lived your dream but it didn't quite happen and you gave it your best shot,if it works great..what have you got to lose? We don't know cause we don't know your circumstances and us lot aren't really bothered to be honest.my advice to you is crack on and see what occurs.
  18. Am sure it's spot on for the traveling community who jump on board our industry.
  19. Another thing was no body could get in or out for well over a week...the B&B were running out of everything so had to walk into Guildford which was well Over 3 miles away to get supplies..wish I had the forsite to have taken pictures I saw some amazing sights of the power what wind can do to a strong structure as a 300 or 400 year old tree.
  20. Great Read Dave and well put together..I remember that night very well,I was working in and around Dorking,Guildford & Learherhead in 87 stoped mainly in the bill in leatherhead but moved to a B&B just out Sid dorking in the middle of nowhere..herd the wind and just hindered down.. were I was staying was shooting country and being October the pheasants were ready for the coming season. so when we woke up in the morning apart from the trees being smashed and broken the site of hundreds of pheasants which had been roosting lyeing dead everywhere was a horrible site..the fact that many animals lost there life's that night gets not a mention sometimes...I went back some 10 years later and the tree's were still being cleared..kept many a tree surgeon afloat for many a year..always benefits come from disaster.
  21. Well don Steve....fab layout and very modern up to date configuration...guess it needed updating so all good now for a good few years
  22. Am no techno geek....so just have to have a play around with it...can't be rocket science
  23. Got to agree with the above comment...as we always do our best to preserve tree's of any type but more importantly good stock and specimens this tree is a lost cause and anything you do will be a temporary fix..if the tree means anything to you it looks like you can get some decent timber out of it to make something worth while keeping.
