  1. Thanks both for reply’s but am stumped to what it is so it’s going in to Have someone who know what there doing to have a look at it....it’s a fab little saw and I would say just edges out the stihl 150 for me..have both but the Echo gets the first shout...but time to give the 150 a good work out.?
  2. Absolutely Anno and think this book is even more relevant now as at any other time in mankind’s history, not to get to heavy because I believe the worlds climate has fluctuated over millions of years and some things happening climate wise is a natural progression, but without doubt the human race has tilted it into a different direction timewise.wow listen to me and just a simple guy who knows nothing much about anything really, just goes to show what you read has an influence on the way we think?
  3. Been looking for a new book ref Forest to read over Xmas and beyond if necessary and found this fab book call”WOODLANDS” by Oliver Rackman it came on monday and had a quick look to start off and then I couldn’t put it down,it’s a fabulous book and so well written and I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in every aspect of how our forest and woodlands live and breath and it covers everything and I will be looking forward to cosy nights in with a hot chocolate and Weaver curled up at my feet reading this lovely book.??
  4. Thanks Bill & Rob will check all above...i’am one of those guys who has never been into messing about much with anything mechanical and get by if just basics, just feel it saves a lot of down time if you get into it to much especially on site, easier just to pick up the back up and crack in.Thanks again and will repost if and when sorted.?
  5. Thanks Dave, yes he is a smashing little dog,he got a big thorn in his paw today,he came hobbling to me and I could feel the end of it in his main pad,I tryd to pull it with my fingers but couldn’t get a good grip so used my teeth to pull it and he never battered an eyelid he just let me do it and then carried on playing,it’s still a bit sore and have checked to see if anymore but nothing.beuitiful day today cold but clear blue sky so he loved it.
  6. Can’t say I have but willcheck it tomorrow, thanks for that as if the bar stud is no more that would indicate why the bar may be moving forward?
  7. Hi Mike yes oiling as it should,it as if the bar is moving forward on its own and just tightens right up,its ok for a while if I leave the chain slack but that’s not a good idea.
  8. Hi all just a little update on Weaver...he comes with me everyday to work, sometimes he has to stay in the truck as job to dangerous or to close to roads etc. But today was fine as working for a regular client just cutting back overhanging branches, shrubs and conifer hedge. Day went well and finished in plenty of time so made a couple of Scurry Dens using some of the Conifer branches. So he could have a good search,I got his pheasant toy and just hid it in the dens and let him seek it out. Made 2 dens and switched hiding his toy in each one, only did it for 20mins but he soon picked it up and loved going in the cover, all these little things just help with his progression into when the real trading starts, and to him it’s still a game and play time and nothing serious.(Here Are A Few Photographs Of”Weaver”
  9. Got a problem with my favourite little pruning saw,my sweet perfect Echo Cs2511 stared playing up today for the first time.iam ok with saws for general stuff but when it gets complicated I have no idea, just not ever been my thing. Anyway the problem i have is the chain starts to tighten by itself even when I leave a bit of slack in the chain it starts to tighten up to the point it just stops rotating like the chainbreak is on. Must have taken the cover off a dozen times today to see what could be causeing the problem but nothing visible, sprocket cleaned out and runs freely...am stumped so before I take it in has anyone had the same problem and if yes what’s the solution to sort it.??
  10. Roland Hemming is spot on and very modern well equipped set up and always goes that extra mile,Roland & Martin are top blokes and there training methods are modern and do it in a way which settles you and makes it easy,on site B&B and you can walk to the trianing woods.just perfect.
  11. Spot on job John...makes a massive difference when you have all the correct equipment and location very nice to work in.
  12. Nice job John and looks well organised, got the weather now for doing that type of work, crane looks fab,we’re is it? Next to river/in a river basin were boats are dry docked for winter?whats happening with all the brash and cord?..your premiere league compared to me,am championship mid table..well done and thanks for posting, nice vid?
  13. That would be good if they wouldn’t mind you doing that?best pm me his number if that’s ok?
  14. Yes ref knobheads will always be knobheads,it’s kinder like the people who never offer you a cup of tea all day,it’s not that they don’t want to it’s just the way they have been brought up and to them it’s the norm not to offer you a drink, just the way some people are, wouldn’t do for us to all be the same, and yeas your spot on I have a new pup to soften the blow if losing some logs.??
  15. I think that’s exactly the view these guys have that it’s just only wood but when you spend the time cutting and stacking it for yourself then someone thinks they can just take it without any thought does grind especially when you have knocked a few £££’s off the job for a good will gesture because it’s decent wood burning and you will make a some extra money it really does make you angry for a while...but I don’t let it get to me as line you say end of the day it’s only wood and I feel sorry for assholes who do that sort of thing without any thought and thinking that asking without just taking Gives them the right to take the lot just because they did ask.
  16. Timon I know exactly how you feel but us good hearted guys never learn our lessons cause there is something in us kind hearted people who just don’t ever learn,I can’t remember how many times I have been on jobs were other trades are working and they say I have a log burner or a open fire and would it be ok to have a few logs and you say ya course only to come back next day to find not just a few gone but the lot.i don’t do logs as such but have a few people i deliver cut timber to and they split and log it up there’s selfs and i make a few £££’s for myself. Anyway it happened again this weekend, guy fitting blinds in conservatory asked if he could have a few logs,I had felled a beautiful cherry, cut all limbs 4” and above into small logs sections and main stem into rings,2 medium sized Ash same a good pickup load and ready to collect Sunday morning, tuned up and he had left about 2 wheel barrows full and like you I go beyond being angry as it’s my fault for saying yeas rather then no,will we ever learn?

      Hi Wayne,

It's a great machine and a big step forward in my opinion , a few teething problems but these have been dealt with now.  Performance wise it's on another level..

      Jase.

Hi Jase thanks for reply yes have heard very good things the only issue I will have is weight as I don’t want to go much above 750/800 kg...am i correct in thinking the petrol 165p will be much lighter then the diesel which is the norm?

    3. Jase hutch

      Jase hutch

They are currently assembling a lightweight 165p for test , I'll let you know the outcome.

  18. Correct Stubbs but coverd that one earlier and don’t want to split hairs but Weaver is a sprocker just to clarify that one,no am just thinking bout chopping my 150p in for the new Evo 165 petrol but just wanted an honest opinion and some genuine feedback as i’am not looking for comparisons as I know what I want but just what other guys think if they have one.
  19. Hi All Had to call in at Global in Kings Heath Friday and had a look at the new Evo 165 and they look a fab Machine so have arranged a demo for a week but going to wait till the 165 petrol one is free as opposed to trying out the Deisal. Has anyone got one yet or has had on on demo and whats the verdict, not bothered how they compare to similar machines has there are always conflicting views, just a up front honest pound for pound review and comments. Thanks for any feedback.
  20. Morning all hope everyone all good and work ok,loving these frosty days now rather then the rain. Weaver coming on well and growing fast and learning very quickly,he had a hard day playing yesterday helping me on a job in his own way. will be taking him out later for a walk in the woods again we’re there are lots of pheasants around so he’s getting used to hearing and seeing them and a little whistle trianing when one breaks cover or flies up. Hard Day Yesterday At Work With Me So Rest Time At Home Just On Our Way Out Today
  21. All the very best of luck Gand on your new venture it’s never an easy decision to make especially when you have a family. when you say selling and repair is it for yourself or working for someone’s? Will you still do the odd job for yourself weekend etc?concrats with the addition on the way.?
  22. Well the weather has not really eased up but managed to get out the last couple of days and have taken a couple of photographs of Weaver. he is 15weeks Old now and he can sit, stay to command 9/10 times, sit and stay to whistle, sit and stay when I walk away, sit and stay when his pheasant toys are thrown and land by him,and come running back every time when called and or to return whistle. still not really training it’s all in a play situation and 5/10 mins every time. Also introduced him to water on Saturday in a flooded field were the water was 10” deep at most,he wasn’t sure at first but gradually he went out a bit further, paw depth first then knees, then chest and after walking for first 10mins after 20 he was running in and fetching small plastic bottle he found. he is doing really well and I’ll continue with the games, have also introduced him to the lead which is and can be a problem as a lot of dogs really don’t like anything around there neck and tend to fight to pull it off and or bite it. Weaver has taken to it straight away,I had to take and pick my truck for MOT last week and it’s about 1/2 walk along path next to the A38 and under underpasses, across roads and he was a absolute star and after pulling for a few minutes he just stopped and stayed by my side with no bother, unbelievable,so so far so good,I’ll start introducing him to the canvas dummies within the next couple of months so he gets used to the weight and feel, then fur and feather gradually. well that’s about it really as any of you will know who have or have had working dogs as soon as you get the basics sorted you can start to move on to the proper training little by little. 23. Very interesting subject to get into and may be something can look into once can’t climb or do all the physical side of the industry anymore.
  24. I have looked at this stuff over the years but there are so many mitigating circumstances it’s seems both sides always have a valid argument and most cases never gets resolved even with full assessment reports. Thanks Gary for your input anyway, main post was to pay my respects to the 2 people who lost there lives and to the family.
  25. Would you know that due to the circumstances of this tragic accident would the tree be taken away and checked for a reason for it to fail and used in evidence for any calms going forward and obviously for a coroners report? Never crossed my mind before as the tree is the cause of death.
