  1. Quite unusual i thought ?‍♂️ Sold a book matched pair this morning for a new Oak porch a customer had built
  2. This was the bottom trunk end of some pippy Oak i had milled and sold previously. Around 500 wide by 1800, the photos show it slightly red in colour, however in real life they are very pink, almost aged salmon type pink. Does anyone know why this may be, grown on wealden clay.
  3. Had some big Oak crotch to play with today, some lovely figure. Not as good as I had hopes but some weighty boards. 1800 x 1020
  4. Thats a lot of weight what size stick was that? Seems quite a few are returned due to stability issues and lack of cutting square when under load ?
  5. A timely post, you beat me to it as I was also looking a adding one of these to my inventory. How does the older m7m8 differ from the newer f2's?
  6. If you're on Fb, have a look at copford sawmills. They mill full width oak and more on their big woodmizer, dont think its flimsy https://www.facebook.com/132272686819508/posts/2476922955687791/
  7. I've been offered for next to nothing a monster 5-6ft diameter beast abiut 12ft lenght up to 3 lengths possibly... No real interest unless someone says other wise?

  11. No idea mate, you'll have get on fb and mess him unless its someone on here or knows them ?‍♂️
  12. Love a good winch, and yes I utilise it as and when I need to start or finish and can apply steady pressure or less or more as needed. Listening to the note of the saw soon let's you know whata going on. Unless you have some radio muffs! And agree about the board smoothness. A friend who had done alot of milling in the past was very surprised by the finish i was attaining. That I also touched in my video a while back that I posted. I have since made design variations, so may do another!
  13. I watched that video of his when I was looking at setting up the racking system, but have since upgraded what he was doing. There was another chap to who had a better design of it, but again I made changes to that design to.
  14. Afternoon J, What was the decision to go back to work on the saw instead of the mill? Forgive me for asking, incase I missed a post a while ago ?
  15. Oh! I see!! Good to hear. Haven't seen John post much, guessing that may well be the reason why
  16. Ask Harry at copford sawmills in East Sussex, on Fb.
  17. Nice, send me one or two of those down!
  18. You not retired yet? Must be getting on now ?
  19. If he has a mill, why hasn't he cut it himself..... Because to my eye looks more like a growth / wound infection.
  20. Drop me a message, not far from you in petworth
  21. Was looking to spend 100£, not 220T!
