  1. Nose bar support ordered, delivery tomorrow 🙌👌 Measurement markers realigned, and pulley restrung on the log lifter. Tolerances checked on the carriage and all looks good.
  2. No good for me, I've a mans saw 😅
  3. Got a link for it? Needs to be 3002 mount. Shortest I can find is arpund 24/25"
  4. Man glitter was made this afternoon.... I need to check that my markers are calibrated either end as I have different board thickness each end. More of a pain however is i have a board not only thicker one end but also a tapered cut across the board by 6mm it seems. I've opted for a 30" bar, and was hoping that sag would be negligible.if any at all. This is not within tolerance of making dimensional timbers. The smallest large 3002 bar is 25" wondering if that should of been the preferred purchase, if not what should I buy 🤔
  5. Stihl bar and oregon chain, its local and in stock so can buy tomorrow and crack on over Xmas and make man glitter💪
  6. New Xmas present today for running on the F2, bought for fair money from a friend. 30" Stihl bar in 3/8 with some oregon ripping chain in order for collection tomorrow. Anyone any thoughts on a 7 tooth rim or 8 tooth. I've opted for the 8 as that's what I have 🤷‍♂️
  7. I think this is a bit of a sweeping statement. I've cut plenty of sweet chestnut into dimensional timber and if the grain is pretty straight, it's stacked well and weighted, I reckon about 90%has stayed acceptably straight. I agree, I think over sized sticks are pretty sound material. I've those 48" boards and they have not moved a dime. If it was 12" coppice it may be different.
  8. It is together, they sent the wrong bolts for the saw though.
  9. Can someone share a picture please of the saw carriage with the correct orientation of how the black slides/ glides are installed? I've seen two variations and I am not convinced I've got mine right. And I cant comprehend as I said before how much this carrier is for two bits of plastic, a powder coated orange bent bit of plate and handful of nuts and bolts. And a very basic hand winch system. Absolute disgrace.
  10. 28" Diameter logs, not lenght. I've the standard bed lenght version
  11. I don't really see that ill be doing 28" logs on it, but will keep it for the faster milling of smaller sticks. I am just unsure of how much length I'll loose once its mounted.
  12. Does the 20 max out the mills log size?
  13. Finally getting around to setting it up today. Few nuts short so just picked a few extras up. Used my square edge from my tracks to level the bed plates. As I expected a bit fiddly getting bolts loose enough but also tight enough to tighten with my fourth hand whilst holding everything amd checking levels🙃 Just looking at bars to go on my 064. What is the standard lenght 20/25/28?
  14. They will not be Oak in my experience, some exotic hardwood and will be heavily contaminated with all sorts. Vapour release from.ov3r a stove would not be adviseable if imagine
  15. Those avant rotators are hideously expensive!
  16. I may keep the pallet and finger grab for logs and timber, but may look at a cheaper option and just go for a muck grab / farmer style off ebay for brush. Its not very often I have cast swathes of brush to move but it would make life easier
  17. I looked at that and messaged them. The base frame for the avant forks is not wide enough to cater for two fingers, and brash ive found always falls though between the tines. They are T piped as one ram action, not independently.
  18. Having used the pallet forks and single finger for moving brash and logs in the past its OK but not the most effective I feel. Looked at the large log grab but not sure on it as may loose a lot of lifting capacity and looked at the grapple bucket possibly the avant one. What do people use, wanting ideally a single item that cover both bases in an ideal world. The one in the picture i believe to be the grapple from avant themselves does anyone use one for Timber trunks etc as well? Any other pictures that you use welcome or links etc.
  19. Had a good day milling some of that Elm. Some stunning wood, also knocked out some Acacia, spalted Hornbeam and smaller stick of my burr horse chestnut which was slight spalted. Not cut on the 070 but a woodmizer by will at woodlouse industries.
  20. You want the stump as a table leg and the elm cookie as the table top? Yeah, that's my plan
  21. Did you season this lump before cutting or did you just cut it green? Cut green, not sure how long it been down before I purchased it, good year I'd of thought.
  22. Tidy, I am in the look out for a stump similar to use as a base for my monster Elm cookies.
  23. 4 now sold, happy days. Going to keep one for myself i Think, to unusual in this size. Three of the four sold have gone to cabinet makers so can't wait to see what they can do with them!
