  1. In reality I don't tend to mill boards over 7ft and I don't see me milling lenghts much over that either. I am.lead to believe its a 4m with a .5 and 1m extension included.
  2. I've been offered a F2 for fair money and relatively local to. I'll see where that leads. Not sure on logosol price discount, they are the same advertised prices as was in their 2019 pdf catalogue....
  3. wanted. Looking to purchase said beast, as father xmas has been kind this season! anyone Looking to move one on?
  4. How do ypu think they will with stand heel marks? For personal use? What width size we looking at here, difficult to judge!
  5. Any pictures of the slabs? Presumably you are using a pulling chain not pushing as per picture 🤔
  6. Unit costing is around 1k plus delivery, excluding any equipment. Life spans seem dependant on many factors, but for me it needs to a be move able unit as my yard is due to change at some stage. But I haven't looked at equipment price, heaters and fans. Guessing 500 going by big J post. So could have a kiln for 2k, if that last 8 years that will do me!
  7. still doing some investigations in Kilns, various options about from simple solar to logosol to DIY wooden crate jobs. Does anyone have a thought about insulated shipping containers? one for sale locally, but unsure if that it would suit the needs for a kiln? Obviously needs a few tweeks here and there, but in my eyes looks to be a good staring block? Just as a side note, this container is 10ft6 and insulated, but weather there is enough i wouldn't know? Guessing you can never have enough!
  8. my longest run was 11mins with my 090 at about 40"+ in hard Beech. One tank per board.
  9. It was i think not that long ago, But may of changed of course.
  10. As a matter of course, I tend to let it idle for a while, and don't let the saw run out of fuel, if you can't make the cut with a full tank, refuel part way through.
  11. Yes it certainly can be. When trimming out brash, or even felling a tree your only flat out in short bursts, often feathering and or at idle. Milling you'll be flat out for anything from 3mins to 10 mins plus depends on the stem. And youll find that milling is exempt in the small print from warranty. Id personally not be buying a new saw, find a decent second hand at a very good rate.
  12. are you selling the kiln components, How good do you find the kiln, what size boards can you put through it?
  13. Indoors id imagine, I am preparing for the day I may get some to cut 😅 And curiosity of course!!
  14. Don't go telling everyone 🙄
  15. Thanks, This is a magnolia grandaflora, if you have one of these as well, that be great too 👍
  16. So, this is the type of Yellow poplar I have in my mind, (if you have any?) That I would be interested in retaining said colours. Whilst when it dries it goes dull, and tends to form a variety of chocolate/coffee walnut browns. How would you keep it looking fresh 🤔
  17. so it does return it to the fresh cut colour then?
  18. I am looking for some information, if possible on the use of the aforementioned Acid for the recovery of lost colour in wood. I know that some woods, when milled produce some phenomenal colours but as the timber dries this disappears. Is there any benefit in using this for restoration of colour along with a wood conditioner? I am well out of my depth, so any information greatly appreciated. Timber species specifically is Yellow Poplar and and Magnloia.
  19. How long them been laying around for?
  20. I kept that pair of boards for myself, the other pair I sold as well and that last pink pair.
  21. Pretty sure its English, the whole wood was planted 150+ years ago id say going by the diameter of the biggest trees. The top sections showed no signs of a tinge. I'll have a look for the bark when I felled it, but pretty sure its robur. The top image looks slighty warm due to the wb on the camera
  22. unfortunately wrong end of the country by a mile and not not really. Just most peoplendont put a location with a wanted question 🤷‍♂️ So will always limit who responds
