  2. +1 when i fited handles for british rail we used to burn the end that went into the head tapping it on taken a bit off burning a bit more untill it fitted snug. then put in a wedge. and tap in and then soak in a water but for 24hrs for it to swell good as new. have a number of tools i need to rehandle need to find some decent ash.
  3. saw and heard the first nigthingale and a bumble and a butterfly. but the nightingle stopped and listened then got a glismps of it as it flew over. made my day spring is on its way. we hope if the weather does not have a hissy fit again and snows.
  4. +1 along with arb gear. look towards the east may find the culprits.
  5. well done get something for your time plus maybe more work to come your way.
  6. +1 all you have said. only thing i would do is put in a inspection hatch so far along in case you need to get to it and can not pull a cable through. any inspection hatch and cover from a builders merchant will do. openreach did new cable save having to pull the whole lenght
  7. +1 looks a good tool. and the spud bar. why is it the usa have these firms selling what you need. but UK job to find a firm like hoover. nich in the market

  9. thanks for that then echo i will go. for cost of if i have to buying new head may be worth just getting a new one with bigger engine and keep the honda for spares
  10. depends what part of uk in Hampshire the petrol ones are nasty bit of work hit a flint and it will have you. saw a chap who does hedge planting and he had a sthil petrol driller with the auger bits but that i can see twisting when it hits stones. as said rabbit spade /newcastle. and a shoveler and a heavy duty pointed bar. can get a lot done with just those tools in a day. or if you have one a mini digger with a auger on. but ned to be doing a lot of holes. there was a bever power pack with a auger had a solid metal bar to stop it twisting did a good job but was a pain trying to pull it over anything soft
  11. +1 if you have been getting work from them and maybe more do you want to rock the boat its a pain. but if you fight this one how much could you loose in long run. just ask the guy who confirmed it that you see work has been done and see what he has to say. you never know someone in same department has given work without checking with his team left hand does notknow what rigth hand is doing. never know he may say let me know what your out of pocket expences are and will settle this so you are ok. or may give you some other work to compensate for this job.
  12. +1 and hirst castle lugg all the gear over pebbles beach. get it all kitted out give it a good cast even with fixed spools flying like a goodin and bale arm comes over and crack all the gear going into space. in the end cut the bale arms off. worked far better then started brigning them out without bale arms burton bradstock had a good evening fishing there after the maceral. wAS DOWN THERE one night and saw this owl on top of this camper van. thought it was a plastic one untill it moved was a eagle owl chap said he flew it when it got dark
  13. hi waht cc engine are they as need a biggish one the honda is just shy of 40cc but being 4 stroke be about 45cc in a 2 stroke.
  14. even if a tree surgeon takes the wood away it has to be reflected in cost of removal. eg fuel time loading unloading. so doubt if you will get any reduction. as other posts ask someone from this site to give you a quote just to drop and cut up or dismantle and cut up and you keep timber. if you want brash chipped then added cost for time chipping brash. takes time chipping brash . so if you can burn on site then maybe less if they just drop it for you and you do the hard work clearing brash and cutting up tre in to log size.
  15. you look like you may be the man to build me my workshop. 35ft by 30ft. keep saying i am going to build it but never get the time. be nice to have it built for next winter so i can work in the dry.
  16. well my trusted Honda brushcutter head went the other day. new head £120. yes you will all say buy a sthil. now what is a bit anoying is its only 14 months old my last one lasted nearly10 years befor giving up now its out of warrenty. but spoke to dealer as i though my fault not greased the head but there sealed for life. spoke to Honda got to give them serial numbers and wil look into it in the meantime no brushcutter. looks as if next one will be a sthil or husky. but there heads are now sealed and can not grease. will theres go the same way dry up and seize
  17. +1 its like a jigsaw puzzel trying to find how to untie it good stress buster. or could drive you to the bottle
  18. maplins do some very good setups including ones which can be sent to your phone if it detects movment. drawback is if it is the local raynard out for a walk
  19. as other posts takushi, very good i like kubotas more yanmar very good JCB steer clear with a large barge pole. drives backwards to the rest. i have sent you a PM know a man who sells them all the time. andd he is very good. is honest will send you photos to look at then you can make your mind up. and he delivers over uk.
  20. give it to him and ask him to get it back to how it was in his own time. reminds me of when we used to get birds nests in our line as reel would let it out to quick and it overran sat ages untangling it.
  21. very good firm i used to get my rotavator blades from them and normaly next day delivery. as for chipper the one i had was on my rotavator was ok for chipping but went on floor. and i asume it has had mods as mine was fed in from top for brash and sticks in the side.
  22. had one done the other day for customer similar size charged £200 to grind it out. but did a good job could plant in it afterwards
  23. a poly tunnel is great can get a 30ft one for less than a wooden greenhouse. wooden greenhouse a investment will last a lifetime as said looked after has all the vents so it opens when it gets hot. can paint the glass to keep some of the heat out ideal for bringing on new stuff in winter with a little heater. has so many benifits. love to have one. and some of the top ones come with all the gear so no ned to spend out on extras. if growing toms my late dad grew his in large plastic pots and trained them on sizal tied to roof of greenhouse never saw such a large crop got so many he was given them away. have a poly mixed thoughts i need to re sheet mine as it has gone nad need to put a door in back for a free flow of air on a hot day as they get hot very hot. but can grow loads in them. and early as they are getting warm before the outside has. need to do a lot more looking in how to run a polytunnel. as mine up to now has been a waste now sitting all falorn with no plastic as got ripped off in last storm
