  1. saw a very good compost bin at a new customer double aprox 6ft square by 5ft tall had used 4x4 posts and had put 5x2 on the out side then put a smaller plank in between on inside so just a little air gap looked like it was rotting down ok and looked very smart
  2. +1 very tasty i enjoyed eating them. same with semi stale bread i took fishing i eat more than the fish did:biggrin:
  3. they like them empty and dried out of any fuel and oil. and you should mention that you do have things that had fuel in. i had some stuff to bring back from channel islands and we were going to drain all the fuel and oil and wrap in bubble wrap and seal so nothing leaked. i think if you drain them and dry out with a cloth you should be fine as its like a new saw.
  4. reading on the HSE website. looking up a mapp number for barrier H for ragwort. i see from november 2015 only those with NPTC qualifications will be able to use profesinal products. about time having spent good money on getting my papers and hard work passing exams. maybe all herbcide, pestacide, insectacide should come under that you need to be qualified to use.
  5. as other posts hot air gun but just warm the vinel so it just starts to bubble then grab a end and start to peel using gun to keep what you are peeling off warm. will come off a treat. but as other posts will leave a shadow as uv has gt to paint work so will need to t cut to get it looking the same. i used a polising mop put a drop of t cut on went over then put a clean mop on head and cleaned off. long job to get it right.
  6. should of started 3 weeks ago. but looked at jobs and looked ok. went this week like a jungle. having to couble cut so i do not get grass tram lines. that teach me start end of march no matter what. like last year done up to the nines in thermals and gloves as so cold. never felt so cold mowing.
  7. that be good PR get poor marylin and her freind to come and plant a tree in place of the one you cut down. as for making a racket closing your side door when she was trying to speak. you will not getv a invite to the blue rinse club to give a talk on how to fell a tree:biggrin:
  8. chap has one of the exeters and he got 100% grant for his believe half was from the county council. as it was promoting aciant crafts. so may be orth asking council if they will fund a bit
  9. if it has glass in back and rear and has seating in back then is classed as a car so can be driven as a car. also toll bridges class them as cars so only pay car prices. we had vito dream liners and there was room in boot for all the gear we took. what you can not do is just put glass in a it will still be classed as a van. and you can only do van speed 60mph on duel and motorways and 50 on other roads unless stated as lower. one of our lads got done for doing 70 on the A38 should of been doing 60mph. argued the case with police and ended up in court with a £200 fine and 3 points instead of £60 and 3 points.
  10. well its spring again and saw the first swallow, go over near lasham nr alton. first one so must be on there way. seen a number and heard a few nighingales already in the last 2 weeks. it must be grass cutting season.
  11. for doing the blades give them a light sharpen both sides you can get a balance tool thats shows if there balanced. if not use a pencil give it a swing like a propler and see if it comes back to same spot if its off a bit then sharpen oneside a bit more untill its balenced. as for front, old washing machine side and pop rivit on. will stop any stone flying out of front.
  12. drove the vito 108 and did over 100k in it non turbo usless puffed going up hill. went to the 108 turbo not bad truck but the 110 was a far better beast and better fuel econamy did abot 40mpg. they then changed them to the 112 and the 115 the latter has to much power used in the big sprinters and way over top for the vito. so if you can find one the 110 or the 112. servicing was on par for main dealers. had very litle go wrong with any of mine did over 600k in them untill we changed to VW not a patch on the vito. was looking at getting a panel van and the vito was one i was going to look at as has good space in back the people carriers well they are a dream so comfy never ever did get the chance to have one. will take 6 people in comfert.

    Dilemma.

as yet not heard anything bad about them. as other posts on saws the mitox is one of the best saws coming out of china friend who coppice has the 38cc and the big one and he has nort had any problems with them just go on and on. and he is cutting loads. so there working hard. but with a 2 year warrenty if it does go wrong take it back and they replace it. i think the big two will start getting a shock like the uk bike firms. the more that get out there then more people will get them.

  15. +1 the barclaycard should do a mobile card reader. known and seen a lot. or ask your local bank if they can help sort one out. forget paypal.
  16. the quicker we are out of this money pit the better. what do we get from the EU. we would still trade with the EU even if we were not in the club. but we abide by there rules. whilst those of other states flout them to our decline. Ford tetly Dyson all lured away to eorope because our goverments will not stick by companies and keep them in this island. MEP.s £100.000 a year plus expences. for what. what do they do. yet to se what any MEP has done for the uk. we pay in 67 mil a year to be a member what could we do with 67 mil. a lot. when we were asked in the 70,s it was a common market not a member of a EU parliment who makes rules overides our courts. etc. then i voted NO and if we get a referedum IF then i will vote no.
  17. the stick is from your shoulder to your wrist. then with it upright you get top of tree and bootom of tree together were you stand it should fall not bomp proof but it worked with a ceder we dropped. out by a 1inch
  18. was out with a tree surgeon he got a stick elbow to wrist held it up in front of him walked back untill bottom and top was at both ends said it drop there it dropped right in that spot.
  19. there is a guy in alresford nr winchester who only hauls logs. if you get stuck PM me and will see if i can locate him and find out
  20. stem injection is known to work and should iradicate it. you inject with a special pump injector into the main part of it the JkW takes it down into the roots and it kills it off. but may take up to 3 or 4 treatments to get rid of it all. local council had it bad injected all the stems and now only one tiny patch left if thats still there as injected that last year. do not dig it up it breaks bits off and it grows back with a vengence. and any top stuff taking off has to be taken to a special site for incineration. its a notifiable weed thats if the EU would be interested. should be. sounds like there is a chap who has posted who can do it for you near to you so check it out
  21. cummins make a 18hp engine the smallest they do so would fit a compact or a 360. have to ask what do they go in. the plot thickens. perkins still making engines for all groups but on a larger scale. firm making engines for the indy car series. so we could make a chainsaw be interesting to see a full uk chainsaw. well apart from bar and chain
  22. on my soap box. trouble is repeted goverments have failed to help uk companies sell on a even playing field. or have refused when asked for funding have said its againts EU rules yet other european countries give sweetners to uk companies to set up in there countries to make goods for theuk and europe. ship building once the pride of the world asked for help to be able to compete goverment refused now major ship building gone. it makes me mad to see ships coming int southampton named after our queens to have been built in a european country. but hen watch top gear and they showed what we do build from cars, bikes construction equipment taxis ice cream waggons 99% of racing cars. i can not think of any chain saw being built in the uk. a lot of the major stuff may have gone which is a shame. but there are specilist firms leading the world. undersea space aircrafts. and there is a very good boot firm who make british boots granberg. do we make chain saw trousers do not know. still make trains, small boats. so not is all bad in the uk. just our goverments need to wake up and help firms when they need help rather than let them go abroad. EG transit no longer made in the uk. now turkish or belguim. yes we do build engines cummins. nissan make engines believe mini do. trying to think of a small engine. will do some checking. to blame thatcher. is somewhat wrong its been many goverments of all colours who refused to keep the flag flying. if they were only to think by keeping a major company going in the uk the costs of paying dole would be offset and paid back 10 times if they supported companies to keep people working paying tax,s and NI. but once in the house they loose sight of the real world
  23. citric acid had some for killing moss on pavements just sprinkled on brushed it over and left for a few hours washed it off came up nice and clean.

  25. +1 rang him today as looking and has a few for sale different makes. said they go through workshop and are checked over and serviced. had one if i was interested to take as seen been in a fire so needed some wiring done to it. but looking at £2k. has gravity ones. when i have the dosh will go and see him for a roller chipper. wish i had 2k now as i would get the fire damaged one. just what i need and at right money
