  2. Only had my lathe a few months so I'm still learning dont want to waste good wood by rushing things lol but three minutes is very fast
  3. Hi delabodge Dont have any pics as I only made a few for family. its easy enough though turn your stopper part down so that it drops in the bottle then I used a home made thin parting tool 2mm thick to cut 3 grooves 4mm apart, this was for 2mm O rings, cut the grooves so that you can just push the stopper with a bit of resistance, I did one groove before I cut the others as its a bit of trial and error. Once you are happy with the first groove cut the rest then polish/ seal as normal then apply a coat of lacquer, then fit all the O rings. if you get the sizes right you can tip the bottle upside down without it leaking. I am planning to make some more so will post some pics soon.
  4. Try cutting a few grooves in the part that goes into the bottle and fit O rings into them, looks a lot better if you get the proportion right.

  22. Hi You got a good fire by burning the 2 x 2 so do this to get the stove up to a high temperature, dont forget its a big lump of metal to warm up and will not radiate heat till its hot. Your logs do look to be a bit large for a small stove, try cutting them a bit smaller so there is more air round them, granny logs as known by, open your top air vent fully and close the bottom vent,if the stove is properly up to temperature as soon as you put a new dry log in it should ignite from the embers from the burnt wood if not your wood is too damp or your not up to working temperature. Fill it as full as you can then keep topping it up as it gets half way down. When your surround has warmed up that too will radiate heat and your stove will then kick out more heat into your room.
  23. Well done Steve you can relax a bit now
  24. Thats another fiver added, can we make it 7K before midnight?
