  6. Chicken pellets are ok but dont expect miracles, get on to your local farmer and ask him for well rotted cow muck . When wifes grandad had farm I used to grow onions the size of footballs, year after tatties went in same patch got massive crops
  7. You could try cleaning the pot with a bit of wd40 sprayed on to the end of a pencil rubber, but dont rub too hard,then use some contact spray like this, De Ox ID Premium Electronic Contact Cleaner Spray | eBay Good luck
  8. Thanks for the replys not too fussy what wood, but nothing too good as I,m still learning, cocked a few pieces up by being too eager to finish them lol
  9. Tried them a few times but given up we dont get enough sun to get a decent crop, best i got was about 4" diameter but it tasted delicious, might give them another go ........ thats summer knackered now

  11. Hi all Not got any work on at the moment so been spending a lot of time practicing on new lathe but running out of stock now. Just wondering i does anyone would sell any small pieces nothing bigger than 8" diameter? I would arrange courier collection myself. Thanks

  15. Only things that did ok last year was onions and beetroot, got chillies sown now,toms at end of month, normally have about 6 varieties,grown with basil to keep greenfly off. Rest of veg grown in deep beds swiss chard, rocket,garlic,courgettes,beans,peas, mixed salad leaves, beet and onions. Tony have a look at Heritage Seeds

  19. Cant go wrong with any Speyside single malt Royal Lochnagar is one of the best but a bit hard to get hold of. Only use for blended crap is to make blackberry whisky

You got a nice lathe in the coronet you say you only have the basic chisels, try get hold of a few good quality ones there a lots going on ebay, depending on your budget, Marples, Record Power are cheap but acceptable, bigger budget tools are Hamlet and Robert Sorby. Also I would get a cheap wetstone grinder as these give a far better grind. Nice work by the way
  23. Used to cut my logs to fit the stove, learnt a lot since then and now cut them a lot smaller to get lots of air round them, find i get a lot more heat out of them that way
