  1. Phytophora wouldn't work it's way into the heartwood, tbh it would more likely be stress cracking in the inner-more rings of the tree, unless they followed out to the surface further along the limb, but a good many things may have caused the damage if not Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  2. Not richening the mix, hold it on WOT and turn the screw left/anticlockwise until it starts to 4-stroke, then drop it through some wood, if it stops 4-stroking it's done, if it continues, lean it up until it stops Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  3. Yes, the old German engineering was built to last! Look forward to the vid Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. It's not a bolete, I'm out Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  5. What does the underside look like? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  6. Means I have to take clutches off on outboards, fluid grease is much easier! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  7. The big Oregon buggers, and you have to use them like a proper grease gun, pump until grease shows Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. The huskys come with a grease gun for red fluid grease, which is for the bar sprocket and clutch bearings, or you can use the tube of bearing grease (this does NOT work in the grease gun!) Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  9. Who ever owns the verge or who ever owns the land where the tree came from, it's what I said! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  10. I'm sorry TCD, do you have a better suggestion for a 50cc husqvarna chainsaw? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  11. It's providing a habitat whilst it's lying there rotting, are you more important than nature? Have you got the authority to seize other people's property at a whim? Have you got permission off the owner to take firewood? If any of those questions yield the answer NO then it's not yours to take, and that should be how it should be looked at, unfortunately people look at it and go 'it's just a tree', not their land, not their property, then again, if your neighbour's tree is over hanging your garden and you decide to cut a branch off / one falls off, it's still their property and you have to give it back, unless they otherwise state so Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. Same crank number, should do! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. As has been discussed before in another thread regarding mowing vs tree cutting, a grass cutter can do more than a tree cutter, if you said £10 for an average sized lawn (100m2), that can churn out 2-4 lawns per hour (depending on how good the mower operator is), so that's £20-40ph, 7 hour day (8th hour for lunch and breaks) so £140-280 a day, one guy! You have a team to cut a tree, and if you make £500 per day, your still making less per person, even at this time of the year, the mower guy could still be mowing, or leaf clearing. Whilst you may have the harder job, the mower guy earns the most cash for your boss, as for anyone is able to do it, anyone can cut a tree down, the skill in all jobs is doing it right, and better than your competition. 14. 1, when you say 25+ I assume these were live? 2, what's a Gravid girl? 3, what do you do with them? Squash em I hope! Bloody hate spiders! Although I don't mind the orb web type, such as the one pictured, or the really big buggers, it's really interesting watching them build their webs Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. Bigger saw, bigger bar, it's effectively the difference between a 550 and an old 365 in size, much more power, I have a 385, the predecessor, which pulls 28" like a demon, I can't imagine the 576 would be a patch on it Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. Faster chain speed but less power, and you'll need to turn the oiler up Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. Sounds like it could be a crank leak, or possibly still carb/fuel problems Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. Mate, this thread is over 18 months old, the 'husky that never got made' has finally appeared as the t540xp, the 020t/200t was the best, the 201t had too much to live up to, to be classed as great, although the 540 stepped up to that mark Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. Yes, it is a no brainer, we shouldn't do anything that makes this job any harder, but I don't think throwing the insults and derogatory terms is necessary to describe someone, especially from those taking a high ground who are just as guilty of braking a rule or law, no matter how small it is in comparison, there is NO need to label anyone as scum or thieves if they're a drug user, but the point mr b picked me up on, was that it seems to be the same ones over and over again who take the high ground who are just as quick on other threads to contradict their holier-than-thou attitude Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. My argument was we shouldn't be so quick to judge and start throwing the derogatory terms around, especially those taking a moral high ground all the time, but then doing something that is also illegal, that could be as trivial as traffic offences, but I chose chainsaws as we all use em, unfortunately somebody got the wrong end of the stick, again! 21. Correct, and the minimum age for tickets is 16 Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. I'm employed, but I use my own saws sometimes, and PUWER is that the saw must be in a safe, unaltered state that complies with the original specifications of the saw, ie, no extra noise, the AV mounts must be serviceable, the saw safety standard must be for the country it's being used in (so the American ISO/EPA stuff can't be used here and vice versa), generally everything should be manufacturer parts, I do find PUWER stupid, as it means the 560 is allowed, but a 562 is technically illegal for use at work, despite being the same other than bar mount patterns Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  23. Eddy_t

    info please

Personal preference, I prefer a husqvarna 560xp chainsaw, and have husqvarna type A trousers with 24m/s cut rating for ground work, for climbing I use a stihl ms200t and ms150t, with stihl type c 20m/s cut rating, I use a fairly cheap harness that I'm comfortable in, with ISC mongoose carabiners, 2 climbing ropes, a wire flip line, and a 5m rope as an adjustable line, it all depends on what you're doing Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  24. No, but who finds out unless there's an accident, there's 92 pages in a subsection on the PUWER thing, and it ONLY applies to saws after 96/97 (there's a big grey area for anything made in 96), I only know this as my dad's girlfriend showed me, pretty boring stuff, as I answered, it doesn't matter if I don't have an accident Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  25. 16, then you can buy a saw if you're ticketed, 18 otherwise Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
