  1. Ha ha the tractor trailer that bought it in for us would take a while!
  2. this very interesting bit of oak. Not sure if anyone would be interested?
  3. Hopefully those nails haven't tainted it, planked up for joinery your best idea.
  4. Ah brilliant, what a good idea!
  5. Thanks, still a way to go but I'm hoping it will be ready for Xmas lol
  6. Just thought I'd share my attempt at a new bed for me and the wife, dads amazing at joinery so with his guide here it is. Just a little left to do
  7. Oak wants to be an inch per year at least, softwoods a lot less. My personal advice would be air dry as long as you can and only kiln when and what's needed. We kined some 2" boards after a year and they were ruined!
  8. And for anyone else interested, oak off cuts by the bundle
  9. We sell bundles of oak planking off cuts. Sizes vary from 5mm to 2mm and lengths up to 3m from where we trim beams etc. If your after rough sizes and want to save money. £20 a bundle. ( roughly 1/2 tone a bundle)
  10. That's even better, breakdowns cost money so getting fixed quickly is important for us
  11. One thing to mention is whatever mill you go for, make sure the parts back up is efficient. Some mills we looked at were very good but with no agents in England, any thing goes wrong or if you want advice. Try ringing Slovakia to explain something ha ha
  12. Oh not sure if you can? Sorry best bet is google it or someone else may have more help than me
  13. We have supplied both larch and oak to span widths greater than this, as long as the timber is sound and man enough most woods should be fine. If you can get away without using a center support the end product will look nicer.
  14. goid, needs a bit of work but we have plenty of oak this size we have elm yew and ash slab bed but like people have said above these will all need finishing
  15. I think if you save every thing to I cloud it might help, google the problem that should help
  16. Yes the stumps yew, j have 3 of them would make a lovely table !! Just very heavy
  17. We have some lovely yew, some olive ash and plenty of interesting oak. Bit unfortunately our kiln is t running at the moment.
