  1. I use mine on everything and have done for 18 months. My belief is that the reason they crack is the reason mentioned above. I have been careful not to do this and haven't had any problems. In all honesty I can't see that it would/could crack unless it was side loaded when tight to a stem or limb
  2. I personally wouldn't class this as a friend haha but I see your point and here's the logo. Not masses of input from me apart from giving him basic explanation of colour and picture etc. Received logo in jpeg, png and illustrator formats to cover all options
  3. I'm asking for a friend of mine really, he's done mine and I'm over the moon with it, I personally have no reason to see past work as I know what he does for a living and trust he can achieve what ever I want. The reason I am asking is he has asked me what i would expec to pay so as to try and put together some sort of pricing structure for anyone that requests one in future
  4. Just a quick question here as to how much you would expect to pay if you employed someone to design a logo for you?
  5. I had considered getting an ice axe and they can be had for reasonable money on the bay. The oregon ones are very similar to ice axes and yes they are pricey but they are far superior to the likes of the stihl one in my opinion, I'm certainly not regretting spending the extra money
  6. I have the smaller oregon log pick and can't fault it, light and ergonomic designed and saves my back so it's a win win in my books
  7. They are fantastic bits of kit and yes they are expensive but to put it in perspective, do you really get much more for your money with a grcs?
  8. I have the earlier 260tes with the same strop attachment point and in 2 years I've had no problems. Bearing in mind it was my only top handle for the first 2 years it has seen an awful lot of work. The loop is showing no signs of wear and is seriously strong, has taken several large drops and been dragged through a lot of conifers without any issues so don't be fooled by it and I certainly wouldn't worry about it
  9. Mine has never spat a chain off but from the way your talking about it its happened a fair bit to you?
  10. Well I can honestly say that after several months of hard use I have nothing bad to say about my 360tes. Stuck with the 14" bar in the end which I haven't regretted in the slightest, performance in the cut is very good and it is very reliable. It's taken a couple of big knocks with no sign of any damage. Couldn't be happier and I would highly recomend!
  11. I'm pretty in experienced but if the road wasn't too busy I would have a couple of people running stop/go with the relevant signs/cones a groundy and a climber (me) and would put £600 on it for a steady days work
  12. I'm making good use of it tcd, fantastic machine, considering having a quick release spout fitted for ease incase of a blockage
  13. Think I'm right in saying the zigzag is the closest mechanical device you'll find to a hitch climber, I love mine and my climbing has come on an awful lot in the short time I have had it so would recommend it. As said, it doesn't work too well with the thicker ropes, I'm using imori and it's pretty good but I hear blue tongue is a flawless match for the zz so that something to consider
  14. The 360tes which is the latest topper they have out, also have the tiny 260tes which again is a great saw
  15. Had the echo since its release and not had a problem with it. Would say it's been used 3-4 days a week since new so had a good bit of use and plenty of time for any issues to show up but nothing has. Has lots of power and torque and feels comfortable and balanced in the hand, what more could you want? Not really a lot more to say than you will not be dissapointed if you purchase one. In fact I'm almost certain you will be pleasantly surprised
  16. I'm 27 and climb most days, had problems with a weak knee due to a past accident before I started climbing but the more I climbed the stronger it got, very rarely get a problem with it now so you may find that some aches or pains dissappear due to increased strength from regular climbing. I don't think there should be an age limit really, if you fit and healthy and want to do it then just do it ☺👍
  17. You certainly won't be dissapointed! Have had one since the apf and haven't found a fault yet. Very well balanced and bags of low end torque
  18. I have spent a lot of hours driving the largest machine they make and all I can say is its fantastic! Had no experience with boxxer or vermeer and lift wise it's not a patch on the avant but a really good machine none the less. With regards to power etc, I have never struggled to power the 30" auger through any ground. Very user friendly and simple to operate, you wouldnt be dissapointed is all i can say really and the UK distributors are a great bunch of lads and provide a great service
  19. You should get that video up online, big bucks in another industry :sly:
  20. I saw that thread and personally I wouldn't try it as I think the chain wouldn't be ably to handle the power for very long. This mod to my saw has been amazing and made such a difference, means I don't need a bigger top handle much as the little one will happily handle 10"+
  21. Yes it has been increased but only in recent years so not a lot of good on the op's budget
  22. Not sure about chain speed but due to less power draw from the smaller chain, the chain holds a higher speed making for a much faster cut
  23. I'll try and explain the bar mod. I lined up the front of the mount groves on both bars then drilled through the echo bar into the stihl bar wit a drill bit the size of the tentioner/oiler holes on the echo bar. Next you'll need to set the stihl bar in a vice and using a slit disc on a grinder you'll need to carefully grind between the rails and above the holes you have just drilled until you meet and open up a small hole between the rails and holes you have just drilled. Hope this makes sense
  24. 10"bar atm but considering a 12" next time and got the sprocket from forest and arb
