  1. I think your thinking of the pfanner protos
  2. I'm glad I read it correctly then haha. So if a mature tree is topped and then the re growth is remover say 3 years later, is that classed as a pollard/re pollard or is it just topping again?
  3. Just found something that has clarified it a bit for me. Basically a pollard is to cut off the top and branches of a tree to encourage new growth at the top but it can only be classed as a pollard if it's done to young trees. Is that correct? And also that if the same procedure is performed to mature trees it is just classed as topping?
  4. Please excuse me asking this but could someone please explain to me what a pollard is? Have read several bits of information recently but there seems to be a lot of different opinions.
  5. Not hard to do really, I worked on a farm a few years back for 4 years and our honda trx550 topped out around 120kph
  6. Been playing with mine today, you'll not be disappointed
  7. Please ignore. It's allowed me to post now. Maybe something to do with my connection
  8. I like a drink but not in a big scale. Yeah I go out and have a catch up with friends and blow off a little steam once in a blue moon but not often. Usually just have a couple of beers with tea, maybe even just a shandy after a good day as a treat. Don't really see it as a problem. Have been on an ecig for a couple of years now and have to admit, I do feel better for it but can't help but think I would feel better without it...ah well, everyone has their vices I spose
  9. Trying to post a reply to a thread this evening and it's telling me I don't have access to it? Just wondering why this was?
  10. I did yes, had the same problem as you do snapped this one up when I saw it. As Matthew says I think, got to be worth 7 with low milage like that
  11. Not sure of value but I paid 9300 for my 06 3l with 80k on the clock. Full Isuzu service history and immaculate
  12. I have a zz mk2 and the dmm ovals fit just fine for me. I would also advise using a Beal pinch or some rubber rings for the bottom carabiner to keep it where you want it
  13. I have noticed the same but the one I have just done had plenty in, also let it sit in the bucket for a while before just so it was good and cold! twas rather nippy haha
  14. I think for the job they are doing they look like the perfect tool for the job. Not the same with every job obviously but I'm pretty sure that if I ever got a job like that eg. lots of conifer hedge below say about 9" and on good level ground I would seriously consider a set of stilts after seeing that. It does seem to work well
  15. I believe echo recommend 15-24"
  16. Been running the 360 since release and I have no complaints what so ever. Glad to hear about the 620, was considering picking one up at the apf
  17. Maybe try one of these? http://www.chainsawbars.co.uk/products/catlisting/category/granberg-clip-and-trims/ not sure how well they work but from what I understand it bolts down the side of your guide bar and just use the saw like a heavy duty hedge cutter
  18. By "coating removed" do you mean the gold ano coating of the pulley bit? Is any of this damage to the ziggy bit?
  19. They certainly look a good boot and if there anything like my phantoms they will be brilliant. I can see the benefits of them but, and I can only speak for my self here, as someone who climbs then when the jobs done comes down and sneds/tidies up etc I'd have to have two pairs of boots with me all the time which for me personally wouldn't be cost affective at the moment. Wouldn't mind trying some though, will have to wait till business picks up a bit and maybe shell out on a pair
  20. I've cut the max size of the jaws plenty of times but the little bit of string at the top did eventually snap, took it back and got a replacement on warranty, no questions asked and they gave me the broken set back so 1m of 3mm starter cord and a bit of fiddling to get it threaded correctly and I now have two sets haha, think the starter cord will be stronger than original but time will tell
  21. I've got a telescopic unit from fiscars, up86 I believe, fantastic bit of kit and very light weight. Very easy to take up and use in the tree too, it has saved me a lot of effort and time on reductions
  22. It won't fit any saw. The op was looking for tool storage not somewhere to put a saw
  23. I wouldn't go with anything other than Halford pro as daft as that sounds. I've had the same set for 10 years now and never had any issued and had another set for the workshop for around 5 years. For the price you can't really go wrong especially with the lifetime guarantee as a backup
  24. Fantastic piece but I have to agree, it does look better before paint. Think it would have looked better still if it had been burnt and not painted, could have shaded and got some lighter and darker areas
