  1. Haha! I guess so Take your time and take off small bits. You will get a feel for it.
  2. Speed line an option at all? I find stuff takes a lot more than you think. I guess we all think differently though.
  3. That is terrible! Sorry to hear. Some crazy people out there that make life changeing decisions in a moment without thinking.
  4. Thanks Oli
  5. Nice, up to 3 poles it works a treat it's when you got 4 poles and your at the top of A frames to get a two foot whip that's just sticking out but it's really anoying you. It gets pretty wobbly then
  6. Yeah I guess it's more of a pain for mowing/gardening. I was picking up brash and put my finger through a turd and it was the finger with the end worn through on the glove. It was hard to eat my sandwiches that day.
  7. It's not nice, just grab a shovel and clear it first thing and crack on.
  8. Heard good things about the oxdale and balfor a11
  9. Lookes miles better now tho
  10. I never considered elm, was exspecting larch, ceder and the like. Would be interested if you could find out. Cheers
  11. I would go and look at it. I know that dosent answer your question. But looking at it might.
  12. Does anyone have waney edge cladding for my dads workshop/shed. Something durable and dried for outdoor use. 4.1m wide 2.5m high for cladding the front in waney edge. We are in Kent. Cheers
  13. I orderd a somthing from riko this week and the email came through as spectrum plant.
  14. I really like having a set of jamason poles, chose attachments of choice.
  15. It would be good to have one of this magnum/chainsaw grinders for those really tight spots like that!
  16. Simple but effective
  17. I like the log splitter and although you can move it about its a bit of a pain to try and balance it and drag it at the same time. My biggest isue was getting it on the trailer by myself. I could just about manage it with an almighty effort. Well as we finished early today my illustrious brother welded up a bracket and wheels so I can now push it about with ease and pull it on the trailer no bother at all! Yes!
  18. Yes it's fast at getting the stumps out but as hodge points out you still have a wrestle on your hands. Me and my brother shared the grinding although he did the lions share, he is a stump beast and I feel sorry for the grinder when he's using it. Even though dean said we won't "breck it" (northern for break it I think) we carry spare belts and parts etc just in case. But we havnt had any real issues so far I think the pros are plain to see imo It's well built simple to use and maintain. The turn table is the biggest bonus. Global are good for service and after sales if you need anything. It's narrow enough to get though most side gates. Cons: I'm not sure it has many if any really. The locking metal plates that you pull a leaver for to lock the turn table, they can get bent if you catch them some how and this stops you from being able to lock it. It's a bit anoying but nothing a wack with a hammer dosent sort out. Oh and it backfires every once in a while. I do think it's the best 27hp domestic grinder in its class. Just my opinion on that. I would buy another if I had to. Interested in the 2550 for a bigger machine.
  19. We had a late start yesterday and had to finish it off 2hrs this morning. So a full days grinding I would say. They had to be ground out completely. 660 with 30" bar in pic for scale. 3 stumps 40"+ 4 stumps about 20" The rest all around 30" Rough guess, I didn't measure any with a tape just judging scale with the 30"bar
  20. 14 stumps from yesterdays job.
  21. I have posted this ash stump before but its my favourite and thought it belonged in this thread:001_smile:
  22. Looks like you put in some hard graft getting that lot milled up and stickerd! I will look forward to see what furniture you make with it eventually.
  23. What do you want to use it for? If it's sound timber and it's not going to cost you to mill it apart form from some fuel and time then it would be worh it in my opinion, it's definatly useable. Some dimentions and a photo would help
  24. Damn it, I'm going to be thinking about that all weekend now!
