  1. Well … there is pollarding and there is pollarding. At least get the stubs looking even please! It’s not hard. I put my foot down with some things but over the years I have been worn down by customers and what they want and have done my share of work that I’m not proud of. Mostly I have found it’s other tree surgeons that are the critics. The general public are none the wiser and ask me for a quote on their trees.. just so this doesn’t come across badly I do always look for best practice where possible.

  9. I just watched Fred Dibnah’s made in Britain series. I’m sure most people would find it boring as hell but I love watching all the old ways. Anyway, Fred mentioned he saw a video of some guys making chain and the like so i found this on YouTube. Not sure if it’s what he would have watched but I just thought it was incredible how they did stuff back then. One or two of you might enjoy it so thought I would post it here. cheers

  16. I turned 30 this year and it struck me that I have never had any substantial time off the booze. Also my second daughter was a few months old and I wanted to help my wife out as best I could. My business that's been going for a few years now is just getting a firm hold of being established and work keeps getting better and busier. And we bought our first proper house. Alcahol was just getting in the way. Feel more firm on my feet than ever now, keeping everything as balanced as I can. Time for a pint!
