  1. Nice, I have been turning fruit for the first time last week.

  3. Have you ever used mahonia? I saved some small bits from a job, very yellow stuff.

  7. Made an apple today out of yew. Needs some oil on it but was to mentally exhausted at the end haha
  8. My first bowl out of a birch burr done a few weeks back. Still getting to grips with the lathe. Need to practice a lot more.
  9. As said its only in the thin bark but it is annoying as it spreads through other ash logs readily and covers the logs in dust.

  15. Hello, looking for someone who does chainsaw carving. It's for a customer who has some Laylandi stumps at the front of his property. Not sure what he wants carved but would be good to see a profile of your work and a guide price. Job is in Kent between Meopham and Wrotham.

  18. I have cross cut the odd bit with a ripping chain when I had to.

  20. Cool. I have never worked on one, this was in the grounds of a large garden we were working in. It did have a funky hole low down on the stem, almost like a wood pecker had made it. But if the branches are hollow then it makes a bit of sence.
  21. Thanks! I was going with foxglove but the id picture in my book seems a bit different to the ones in the tree.
