Regarding the conveyor, they are an easy add to the PTO saws (both 700 and 750 models). They just bolt on. I have one in stock if anyone is interested (And Ste your Bud can be delivered with it )

Balfor appointed Spectrum Plant as their UK importer back in June. The Uniforest saw benches are made by Balfor, just painted a different colour before being shipped to Uniforest. The saws are exactly the same, but we can offer more variety, including the larger 750mm version with a 13" cutting capacity, direct from Balfor themselves!

To be honest you'd want to hold the log on both really, most the time the cutting of the blade actually holds the log back into the trough, but you really want a hand on it just in case. The design on the Balfor trough makes it much easier to feed the log across for the next cut, particularly with the rollers in the trough and on the log support. We do offer an add on gripping handle to hold the logs that keeps your hands further from the blade, a good addition for employees who are a bit nervous, and even when its fitted it doesnt detract from the operation of the saw if you would prefer not to use it. We now offer a 750mm version too with a 13" cutting capacity. 600mm in a 240V electric version, and 700/750mm in a PTO, petrol or 3 phase electric version. Also with conveyor options on most. The petrol model weighs about 200kg, so its no leightweight. Comes with fairly large wheels and handles. They are easy enough to move about on hard surfaces (and I'm no giant) but offroad ideally you'd need a second person to help though it is ok if the ground is solid.

Hi Dave, it may be possible to simply add a return pipe into the filler tube on your transmission to run a hydraulic splitter, though it depends on how much flow and pressure you have left in your tractor as to how well it might run a splitter. What sort of tonnage splitter do you think you might need? We might have something available in Cannock. Jim
