  2. No the thickness of 12mm is dictated by the slot it runs in. Thanks for Woodberry Chilcott sugestion.
  3. Think you have hit the nail on the head there Mr twig. James Doran Webb - Driftwood Sculptor
  4. The size I need is 480mm x 1500mm x 12mm do you think a plough breast or the tip off a telehandler would be that size?
  5. You should put it on Arbtrader ArbTrader Arborists Classifieds it's free Great price for the IBCs. Wish I was closer
  6. The blade in principle works fine but mild steel has not proved up to the job and have had to bash it straight countless times Anyone know what sort of steel I need for a splitting blade? Spoken to several steel stockholders and engineers and have not had ANY suggestions of what kind of steel it needs to be or where to source some. Edit. Just re read the thread and see that Callum recommended this firm and I presume this is the product he had in mind. http://www.whitesmh.co.uk/single-bevel-edge.html

  10. Did read about them but thought they might be a bit OTT for my use but would get them if they are supple enough form this sort of work. Would be great to have a pair of them come hedglaying season.
  11. Funny you should say that Chris as thats how I did the last hour today but it's very cumsy trying not to pull out the wrong thing with fingures as thick as a drainpipe
  12. Been using an old pair of welders gauntlets and after a couple of hours the gloves seams have blisterd my hands making the job less than enjoable. Got loads more to do so would be nice to have a a pair of comfy gloves for the rest. Need the backs protected as I have to wrap the brambles around my hand to get enough purchase to rip them out. Thanks
  13. Had a chat with Jim at Riko about this and he reckoned it would be fine to disconnect the oil feed line from the main tank and add your own oil tank which you could fill with rapeseed. Keep meaning to do this to mine just not got around to it.
  14. Hmmmm Maybe drone technology is not such a good thing. https://www.youtube.com/embed/SNPJMk2fgJU
  15. woody woodpecker beat me too it. National Charity re-homing commercial laying hens and encouraging support for British farmers Liz says they have collection points all over the country so hopefully something near you. Happy Birthday
  16. Very smart bench Clive
  17. I like the carved in bowl. Very Allan Peters esc
  18. Depends how they're stored. We dry billets stacked up on pallets with the billet direction alternated between the rows to improve air circulation. It takes a fair bit more than a cube stacked like this to make a cube of logs but couldn't put an exact figure to it. Also depends how straight your billets are as a bit of bend over 1m billet creates a BIG air gap. Ahh re read your post and you're storing in bundles. Don't think you going to save much space and you're going to make a fair bit of extra handling doing billets.
  19. They look pretty slick [ame] [/ame] What sort of money does something like that cost?
  20. They have arrived in force here now Hope your lot turn up Kevin
  21. Absolutely. One of the joys of selling logs is burning all the carp yourself
  22. Not the best Jon. It's pretty light and is gone in a flash. Better than shivering though
  23. I am not normally one for gadgets but that looks the dogs danglies Not crazy money considering what it does. Thanks for posting TCD Hmmm now how can I justify buying one?
