  1. Not surprised your kiln dried does not go back up to 25% as this is too high for equilibrium with the atmosphere. We dry most of ours down to 20% air dried. Can't get much lower than that in a soggy winter mind. This chart will tell you what it could go back up to for a given temperature and RH Wood Equilibrium Moisture Content Calculator from Wood Workers Source.com
  2. Can't see it being legit but you might get away with it. Lots of places I go to have tractors. Could you trailer the processor there behind the truck and use their tractor?
  3. Was for us but we are in a national park which have it's own planning laws.
  4. Another one here who looked at getting a DSLR but ended up with the Sony RX 100. Great with low light and no need for a backpack to take it with you. As someone wisely said to me you take your best pictures with the camera you have on you.
  5. He says it's leaky and don't doubt it. We had one here that was repaired countless times and always leaked. Got fed up and took it down and replaced with twin wall. Looks good and no more leaks
  6. Big fan of Mojo. Sent various shocks and forks to them over the years and they come back working and looking like new
  7. Does look pretty tasty. 4 weeks until you get a 2016 bike! The bike industry is bonkers
  8. Nice one Hodge This thread inspired me to dust off my MTB and take it for a spin on Saturday. Not been on it for some months and feeling it today. Is your steed a 29er?
  9. The chap who asked the question knew all along what it is and no corect answers yet. Keep guessing
  10. Posted on another forum where they are frankly hopeless at wood ID. Aparently it's in Norway and 20" across so pretty fast growing.
  11. A close up would really help. Was it paler when first cut? At a guess I would say sycamore
  12. They are still having problems! Needed some spare parts 6 months ago and they said they were having problems with Loadhandler US. Ended up making some parts. Amazed they have not got this sorted yet. Shame really as the because the principle of thing is brilliant but let down by some weaker components.
  13. I wouldn't be too concerned over this infecting yours or customers houses. Aparently woodworm does not like dry wood that is likely to found in the home. Tip 3 from here Guide to woodworm problems - OurProperty.co.uk
  14. Don't know if they deliver up your way Jon but these guys are great. Metal Roofing Sheets | Corrugated Roof Sheeting | Cladco LJT If you want to do it on the cheap get some seconds from them. Usually just a colour issue that makes them seconds.
  15. A few friends have the DAB Makita radio and it would take some beating. Nice and solid, good sound quality plus the only load DAB that packs a punch when it comes to volume. Screwfix sometimes have an offer where you can get the DAB Makita for £100
  16. Interesting read Tom and well thought through but I don't want to see regulation. Regulation will inevitably cost somewhere down the line. This will inevitably be worse for the small legitimate guy. Buying logs is not like buying petrol as you used in an analogy. You can see your load of logs and test it if you choose. Trying to do that on a forecourt is basically impossible. As for logs size Vs weight splitting makes more air gaps so lighter but shorter logs split to the same degree do seem to fill in a few gaps so a bit heavier. Short logs spit small are similar in weight as longer larger diameter logs IMO. Might do a test if I can be ar$$ed as have often pondered this one.
  17. Did ours through Yola. The basic package was free and only paid for the domain name which costs £12 per year. It's basic but gets most of our log sales for a mornings messing about on a computer
  18. Yes did notice how long the cord lasted. Not sure it would have lasted all day without getting annoyingly short but certainly the few hours I was attacking yard. Same job with a strimmer and I would have been replacing the line every 20 mins or so.
  19. Sorry Countryboy but can't help with your question. As for grazing animals on bracken it does not work. Dartmoor has loads of bracken and is heavily grazed with sheep, cows and ponies. Never heard of anyone losing stock to grazing it because they simply don't eat it.
  20. Heard about about some nasty storms up country. Saw this video posted of one of them. Looks proper destructive. [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOYZqGBdfCk[/ame]
  21. Thats great. :thumbup1:Thanks
  22. Started discussion on this yesterday but impressed with it so far and the line seems to last much longer than if I had used a strimmer. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/89605-any-recommends-wheeled-strimmers.html
  23. Naa probably hotter at JET in Oxfordshire Well if they were running
  24. Just demoed a wheeled strimmer for the first time and it would munch that mess
