  1. Wish chestnut dried quicker and burnt better. Shame as it's cheap and bliss to process.
  2. They were and I had some allegedly. It was not ideal processor shape though and Euro tried adding a pile of chestnut to the load
  3. Na that's a sissy bolt I meen like these Turbo Coach Screws Yellow Zinc-Plated 10 x 160mm Pk50 | Turbo Coach Screws | Screwfix.com Whacked in a fair few of these over the years but they do make my little Dewalt impact driver grunt.
  4. Yes 4ah on 18V is loads of power and runtime for anything other than putting in lag bolts all day. Think 2ah is enough for most odd jobs. It's not as if changing a battery is a big deal.
  5. Contemplating this myself. If I keep the Farmi it wants a bit of touching up here and there or trade in and lose a pile of cash. Suspect the depreciation on your Posch is pretty low though.
  6. Yes a bit costly. But you get a perfect 1.15 m3 log store and two lids. Can get them for £20 each delivered in this neck of the woods. They might look a bit scruffy on your site though. They make mine look better
  7. An old lorry curtain side. Whatever it is it needs to be tough because there is some load when they get a flap on. Shredded some 10mm poly prop rope holding it down but as I said it can get quite blowy up here.
  8. I have put 16 crates together 4x2x2 they were more or less touching with a tarp over the top on a frame. They dried almost as well as the individual crates with lids. Yours being round will give more air gaps and circulation so I think you would pleasantly surprised how well they will dry when bunched close-ish together.
  9. Alternatively bunch them up and make a simple frame up and sling a big tarp over the top. I tried this but it's windy site and have had it blow loose several times.
  10. If you can get them the inners for IBCs can be cut in half to make 2 covers. Your logs look as tidy as the rest of your site
  11. Sounds like a bargain. Can't get that on a 27 tonne loads here.
  12. Find I end up doing that or more when working a fair way from home. Try not to have consecutive days like that though as does take it out of you.
  13. Hi Lee. I have sent you message
  14. Wow they wanted a good quantity of wood for the hurleys. When I saw the thread had visions of just a few butts. Glad it worked out and guess it paid better than going for firewood or milling. As for those large stacks of ash that's just perfection for firewood. Never seen such straight hardwood down this way.
  15. Thanks Lee. Could well take you up on this. As Jon says how many hours a day would they get for £280 and have you used the Farmi before? Sorry to ask but experience with it makes a world of difference if the wood is awkward. Also is there any travel to add?
  16. Can't justify lighting the fire when the room temp is over 20C but tempted all the same
  17. Had a 3 speed metal gearbox Dewalt for years and it was great. Got a 2 speed cheaper model without a metal gearbox and it's not of the same caliber.
  18. Thats very clever. How on earth do you do those petals?
  19. Thats one hellava set up Tom Can't imagine there is anything that setup cannot handle.
  20. Haha It's my Mrs that's against me working up there for 3-4 days.
  21. Fabric first Jon. As said above a Passive house or close would be mighty good start.
  22. Looks like a maple surround but could well be a beech infill. Impossible to be sure without a close up though
  23. Very nice Mr punk
