  1. Ah now I see what you mean by "float" Will check it out
  2. Sorry you lost me.
  3. Probably nothing of the caliber your after but lots of pickups come up on here https://www.facebook.com/groups/farmersfreeadsuk/
  4. Steering drawbar is on another pair of hoses. Chap I bought it off does not know what it's for. Runs off spools not PTO. No extension on these cranes to my knowledge. Cant see it can be for work light or winch as the wires go into the hydraulic controls. Radio control option now that might make sense.
  5. For super fast forwarding
  6. O well maybe it it will just get used for it's original purpose. Don't tell Steve
  7. Hmmm so how do I turn it on and off? Only socket we have on our tractor is for trailer lights. Do some tractors have extra sockets for other purposes like this?
  8. Did try plugging it in but all seemed the same. Glad it's not blatantly obvious what it does as I have been puzzling over it since I got the crane
  9. Thanks Dervish. Good to hear the bag with chip works.
  10. It's an old Mowi P20 There is a picture on the Fuelwood website under the 650 trailer but I can't post a link due to computer troubles. Computer troubles fixed by turn it off turn it on again haha http://www.fuelwood.co.uk/Timber-Cranes-and-Trailers/650.aspx
  11. Thanks Terry but it's not for me it's for the father in law but he only turns dry wood and does not have the space for drying blanks. Can I just whack some PVA on it as is?
  12. No apparent switches Dean.
  13. The open and close grapple is another lever which oddly I can't see in the picture but it is in the middle the other side of the pair of levers which you rightly say are the legs. It all works fine and I have used it a few times with no apparent missing movement.
  14. Sorry you lost me I am completely green with cranes and their controls.
  15. Hope so
  16. Got to be worth it. Think of the cost of having to redo the job in a few years because the posts have rotted out and the extra price for some quality posts pales into insignificance. Just about to try some Clipex fencing on the farm due to such bad experiences with regular treated posts.
  17. Picked up a second hand forwarding crane. It has a pair of hydraulic hoses but also an electric cable with a 7 pin plug. I have used the crane perfectly well with just the hydraulics and have no idea what the electrics are for. A couple of pics.
  18. In amongst the wood we have bought in for firewood processing there is some large-ish cherry (14"). Not quite sure how to rough out some bits to be dried. I have loped out a few bits as in the picture but is there a better way? Also how is best to slowly dry a piece like this. I have heard of putting it in a big bag with wood chip but again no idea if this is a good idea. What do you recon chaps
  19. Mmmm tannin yum
  20. Might be worth checking out White Horse Motors
  21. Looks like it. Does it smell like it?

    Files.

Hi Jon I used the Save edge ones. They are very aggressive when brand spanking new so maybe good for major damage but found they lose their edge quickly. The Stihl ones take a finer cut but keep going for longer.
  23. The sort of bumps they get are a miss thrown log or a sheep using the trailer as a scratching post
  24. Thanks chaps. Thing is it's the housing get bust not had many bulb issues or are the housings on the ones mentioned a bit more substantial than average?
