  1. Good idea Jon Not got a Mole valley close by but will ring round a couple of other similar stores we do have
  2. Broken our tractor and failing to remove some bearings as our circlip pliers are far too small. I can see various ones on Ebay but would nice to pick up some today. Are there any outlets for this sort of thing? Looked at Halfords but the only ones they have listed are the same small ones as we have. Any pointers appreciated

  4. I have found our processor more fussy about chain sharpening than a chainsaw. Keeping the tooth length even and the right amount taken off the rakers makes a big difference. Narrower chain on the Farmi but don't see why it would be very different to the Tajfan.
  5. Thanks Chris. That high! If I got 75% of new I would be a happy bunny. I realise there will probably be some negotiation but just not sure where to start. If I knew what SH ones went for this would be a much easier game
  6. Looking to sell our TR70 branch logger and have a buyer interested. They want me to come up with a price. I have no idea what is fair and can't find any other SH machines to compare with. It's in pretty good nick but the paint is poor in place but mechanically 100%. So 50%-60%-70% of the price of a new one what do you think? I would like to sell it them as they are happy for me to hire it in occasionally for our charcoal. Cant justify it sitting idle in the shed 360 days of the year. Thanks Beau
  7. Wow that's the kind of customer we all need Been dead but taken orders for 8 cube today.
  8. Never seen one of these before but might be of interest. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1651448928417477&set=gm.780872098695667&type=1&theater
  9. Yes great wood store Should not have any serious mould issues with sycamore stored in there. As for buying the load if it's possible I would take a look at it before delivery. I have had loads in the past where it's described as "well seasoned" and this means the darn stuff is rotting.
  10. If you want quality over quantity that sounds like a good choice.
  11. Ah yes that makes sense.
  12. I got the Halfords set on offer. Not sure I would call it decent but it is a hell of a lot of pieces for the money.
  13. Sounds at the top end but not unusual. Why 5% VAT?
  14. Just commenting today that almost everything is coming at the same time. Ash, oak beech hornbeam and oak within 3 days. Last year the ash was last by an age. Just looking out the window and I can add hawthorn, birch and sycamore to that list. Incredible realy everything in our hedgrow has sprung to life in just a few days and it's glorious
  15. Think some part of the UK gets a storm most years. We don't all live in the south and east
  16. Pretty serious sawmill Hull-Oakes Sawmill | THISisCarpentry And it in action [ame] [/ame]
  17. Yep all chip blown down into the neighbor's field. Do you think I should charge them for the "forest bark"
  18. It's horrible out in the yard. Clouds of dust. Did a bit of processing this morning and all the chip is now gone!
  19. Sunny and very WINDY.
  20. Done a few on the farm. Most come back.
  21. Not sure but from what I have read on here they come loose when dry anyway. Just thought with a gripple you could retighten mid season if needed. When their all done just cut the wire next to the gripple and as there is spare wire it can be reused. Not saying it will work just an idea.
  22. Was considering having a go at bundling billets. I know Difflock looked at various options for strapping. I was wondering about using gripples and wire. If the wire was left over length you could just cut off close to the gripple, pull through the offcut and reuse the wire and gripple next year. Thoughts?
  23. Thanks for that Jim. Seem to have her running well ATM so will pass this time. If have time you would be very welcome for coffee or a meal.
  24. Think what you like mate. I have changed my "glasses" a few times over the years. ATM It's still fresh in the mind the mess the last Labour government left. Wish I had kept off this thread. Politics is so divisive I normally keep my trap shut on the subject. Hornbeam anyone?
