  1. Sadly Barry I think the reality is people don't "like" our pages Not sure about yours but this thread has had just under 500 views and looking through the likes you have made it 6 Arbtalkers out of 27 total likes. Clearly had lots of looks at the page by the "people reached" tag on each post. Video seems to work wonders for that. Had 80 for the processor in action where the rest are 40-50. Was working down your neck of the woods on Wednesday. Processing Job down at Budleigh Salterton but no time to pop in and say hello I am afraid. If you are ever down here pop in for coffee or a meal if give me notice.
  2. Thanks Barry. Wills-mill on here kindly pointed out how to do it. Quote "I've worked out how to 'like' from my Woodlouse page (rather than my personal one)- you go to the page required, then click on the three dots beside the Message button. This opens up a menu of options, one of which is 'Like as your page'. Will." Here's his page while you're at it https://www.facebook.com/woodlouseindustries
  3. Don't apologise you're keeping this nicely bumped Not that it's helping. 226 pageviews on here and 4 likes from non friends and family. Not sure how long facebook takes to update though. Edit make that 5. Thanks Jay Never tried the Heras fencing panels. Pretty sure Mortimer forest uses/used them so may be worth a PM. The greater the external surface drying area the better so Heras panels can't be that great but would be mighty convenient.
  4. Can cope with a bit of a slope. The legs are adjustable and I have put a block under a wheel to level things up occasionally. How bad is the slope?
  5. All done Chris
  6. Took me ages to work how to like as our business instead of myself. Was another facebook thread on here that gave me the answer. Gotta love Arbtalk
  7. Thanks Ian. Your already done mate
  8. Thanks Mark The name is not a complete fraud. This is Liz helping out on a job last summer.
  9. Sorry yet another shameless Facebook like request https://www.facebook.com/pages/Lizs-logs/655163937921072?fref=ts Realise I am nearly 10 years late getting onto Facebook but better late than never I hope. Already had a quick look through other Arbtalkers pages and liked them. Liz's logs may seem like an odd name but me and Liz (Mrs Woodworks) were going to do this together when we came up with name but plans changed but we like the name so stuck with it. Put your pages up and I will like them in return. Thanks Beau
  10. Thanks for the update. Won't try to sus it out on ours now.
  11. Not used them but the Hammer and Minimax machines look nicely made. Always liked the look of the Rojek kit but not sure they have UK importer at present. Then as already mentioned in this thread there's good old SH kit. Good cast machines can last a lifetime with the odd change of bearings and possibly motor so SH can be pretty good rout. You could consider a phase converter to open up your options. My Felder is 3 phase with a rotary type convertor. With planners the blade system needs serious consideration. There are a few systems often needing their own blades to fit. Consider the replacement cost of these as most are now disposable.
  12. Thickness or planer thicknesser? Either way you're going to struggle to run anything bigger than a 12" on single phase
  13. Pretty sure it's Thailand.
  14. Send it air mail to UK Used to use a very long Sagar jointer when doing my training. Was a great machine in use but a right B to set the blades. It was the old tap and check system and would take an age to get right. Can't remember the full circumstances but for some reason there was work carried out on it late into the night to try to get rid of slight imbalance in the cutter block. Next day she was up and running again. The bench shop was directly above the Sagar and heard the beast running and then a slightly odd noise followed by an almighty crash and what sounded like a very unbalanced spinning crashing noise. We were silent now in the bench room just looking at each other but calm-ish voices could be heard below so went to have a look see. Huge chunk of metal missing from the Sagar's bed and a small hole in the ceiling above the stairs and a very pale apprentice. Turns out the outfeed beds bolts had not been properly secured from the evening works and the whole bed had slid into the cutters which in turn threw a knife which the apprentice who was standing on the stairs at the time saw coming and ducked! There was 16" planer knife embedded in the ceiling. No ducking no head, literally. A brand new Wadkin turned up the following week.
  15. Woke up with this nagging at me. When you say you're going to run 3"x12"x 96" lump of oak over it do you mean laterally or horizontally for tenons? Mine being a combi machine has a large outrigger table to support long lengths when tenoning and cross cutting with the saw. Many stand alone spindles don't come with that hence maybe why the guy said not a chance to the Holzmann handling it. Without the outrigger it would be not a chance with Felder as well. If cutting laterally can't see many machines struggling with weight with some rollers set up either end of the machine. Sorry if I have got the wrong end of the stick.
  16. Good to hear. To be fair my poor experiences were maybe 8-10 years ago so things have undoubtedly changed a fair bit not to mention the fact I can be fussy git about accuracy. Only dealing with them now is ordering blades and tooling from their Christmas offers which can be pretty good. From you previous post "3 inch oak slabs a foot wide and 8 ft long" a piece that size on my current sliding carriage would be fine and with the X Roll should be better.
  17. Your on cracking form tonight Jon. Its the thought of some colder weather and all those log sales you're going to make
  18. You're not kidding Johny but it would be duller place without him
  19. Haha you're avin a laugh ain't ya. First outing in ours and found myself doing 85 without even noticing (normally very well behaved). Admit you don't want to change direction quickly in it at those speeds but they go like stink in straight line.
  20. Have the now old 731 Pro universal. It's generally very good and pretty accurate. A few niggles that when you mention to felder you're told it's your fault not theirs as "Its made in Austria!" The original fence was slightly out of true and an engineer was sent down to Devon to look. He had to use my straight edge and in the end conceded it was out of accepted tolerances and they would send a new one. Think the 900 series stuff is a fair bit more industrial than what I have thou. Just realised I am using their offer catalogue as my mouse mat haha. Oooo that looks a pretty sweet spindle and in totally different bracket to my piddling little machine. Mines 4hp V your 10hp. Their sliding carriages are superb. Just be aware that the company can be a bit erm.... arrogant.
  21. Same engine in all of them Jon. Sounds like yours was faulty or a flagon of cider was wedged under the accelerator.
  22. Jon you clearly drove a duffer or you're normally behind the wheel of a Ferrari Nowt wrong with the get up and go of the current models
  23. Let us know if you sus it out Took me ages to even work out that the running lights only came on when moving.
  24. Yes Don't think the Dmax has front fogs
