  1. You could have the whole tree down and chipped for £300. Is the timber worth another £300 + profit?? Also with the weight distribution there is likely to be tension wood present.
  2. The 'm' of the 'tcm' is not marked on the saw itself. As dan says, see if it has adjustible carb.
  3. All the chuck n duck chippers i have seen (only on you tube i might add), have all fed in at that ridiculous speed. I hear what you are saying about the flywheel and agree. I guess it depends on the size of the machine. I saw a 9" gravely get clogged up with the tail of someones rope and that stalled the machine.
  4. Good point gg, never thought about advantages of cold starts, especially with these new (ish) auto tunes.
  5. Fair play mate. Got to have ambition.
  6. Fair enough. I am more of a kerrygold kinda guy anyhow.
  7. Probably safer there than back at the yard. Not dissing your yard securaty whatsoever.
  8. I like most sandwich fillings, though for me its all about the bread. Got to be proper (not cheap white sliced).
  9. That husky sounds like it could be a good deal. If it was me, i would stick with husky or stihl. Lot of people raving about mitox, so mate bought mitox topper and it fell apart in no time. Also i find husky and stihl ergonomics are so much better. Good luck
  10. When it goes well it can be quite satisfying, when it doesn't, it can make you use language you never realised you knew.
  11. I am afraid no one on this site likes unimogs. Nice set of pics epic
  12. Gotta agree with that. Wedge it in door pocket, not ideal.
  13. I got a mate who soley grinds stumps, he has several machines which can get into all sorts of places. He is so quick and competitive i can if i wish make as much money on top of what he charges, because he has the machine to suit.
  14. I have had several of first pic type and no trouble so far. Usually lose split pin in no time when grounding the rear out, but thats just me. i don't like the thought of that happening on 2nd type.
  15. Yes, thats what i have always found jon. Yes nightmare orders haha
  16. Do you think so, because i have always found that the smaller the logs the more wood i get on the back. I shall have to experiment. I am quite happy to be wrong, would rather know the correct answer.
  17. Like you steve, i have a loose grip of the saw. I believe wf is brought on from having a tight grip but not entirely sure. Be interested in others opinions.
  18. Yes, more time consuming, more waste and they get more weight on their load due to less air space. I charge more for logs less than 8".
