  4. The government can't collect tax on wood YET how long will it be before they do. Is there nothing we can do without someone interfering. Fed up with the lot of them

  8. Yes have a felling licence as part of the Management Plan. Thank you for the info at least I have a rough idea now.
  9. The wood is near Tring in Hertfordshire. though about felling them in early spring when it is a bit drier underfoot
  10. I make a mean milk and white chocolate cheesecake but very rich.
  11. I have three mature ash trees that need felling in my small wood. What is the going rate (ball park figure) for a free lance climber to fell a tree. I can clear the tree and brash once it is down so just (I say) need the trees felled. I am in the bucks/Herts boarders

  15. Splitter, gave up the axe last year on most of the logs. Coming up to 70 so not bad still cut up trees with the chainsaw though. Love all of it.

  18. Thank you for the info looks like the husky then. What soft of problems have you been having with the Husky. What is the best make of bar to get. Thanks.
  19. i am looking at the Sthil ms261 and the Husky 560 Xp. Both appear to h.ave their problems and I really don't, know what one to go for. I need it to mainly cut up logs and would get a 15/ 16 inch bar as I have bigger saws if I need them. Your advice would be very helpfulness. If I go for the husky what make of bar should I get as I hear the Husky Ones are rubbish. I have always used Sthil in the past but wonder which would be best.
  20. I have a row of trees with electric cables running through them in my wood. Last year one of the trees started smoking where the lines was touching it. I phoned the electric company who came straight out and checked. They sent there contractor out who supplied me with a plan of works. That was May 2013 and I am still waiting. I haves phoned them since but still nothing has been done.
  21. I am almost 70 and still do a fair days work most days. My Doctor says that you cannot work too hard???
