  1. I have gas central heating as a back up but the log burner I'd going 24/7. Love to feel the heat and see the flames of a log burner

  3. Happy Birthday Stubby, I will be 70 in March and have been cutting up a very large fallen each today. I work until I feel tired then stop for the day, love it though
  4. Great pictures of the snow. We haven't had any yet so might get away with it. Very cold tonight think it is the coldest so far

  6. I run my saws on Aspen so can't make a mistake with the mixture I hope. The saws that I have get well looked after and are only used by myself and Sons.
  7. Might have a look at other manufacturers. Really set my heart on the 560xp but by the look of it they seem to be causing problems.
  8. Really don't know what saw to get now they all seem to have problems one way or another. I have been told Sthil are not that good anymore.
  9. That doesn't sound good, are sthils the better saw then?
  10. Thank you for reassurinv me. I have thought long and hard about choosing the next saw and thought I would give the 560 xp a try
  11. Are the 560 xp that problematic? I was soon to get one for a change from sthil. I have never had much trouble with Sthil

  14. I am almost 70 and my wife wants to treat me to a climbing course for my Birthday. My Grandson says it because she wants me dead so she can have the money

  21. Thank you for the reply, I will mix it with some ash and beech. I only cut up logs for myself and two Sons so as long as it burns it won't matter too much

  23. I have a couple of horse chestnut trees that have be down for a while and is off the ground. One has been down for some time so is well dried out. Has anyone tried burning horse chestnut in wood stoves
  24. Been a nice dry crisp day but the wind is just star,ted to pick up here in Bucks/Herts /Beds.
  25. We have shot loads on my small wood last year and there is still loads of them. On top of that we have the glis glis. Hate the dam things.
