  1. Trust me he's not such a wee one anymore. And he feels the same. It started snowing yesterday and he said and I quote. "If you make me go out and do that thing again we did last year I'm not going!" He was on about sledging by the way. The missis has a fake tree up, I like them. No mess, no spending ages looking at them, no "it's too big need to cut it" malarkey. Although I do like he connie cuttings idea. Maybe try that next year. Or once the kids move out we will move away for Xmas. A nice remote island sounds fun.
  2. Nope hate Christmas, boo to it all. Can't wait to get it over with...............
  3. I thank you. Looking forward to it. Not so much the RNLI pager going off in it but hey that's what adrenaline is for anyway. Many thanks oh and yeah bring it on.
  4. Ok so just for me can this be be made stupid proof please?.
  5. I'm going to have to remember that. My first rebuild was a Mini Cooper engine when I was ten. Skimmed head, stage two cams and ported and polished. I swear I was ready to puke at turning the key. The second big rebuild was a Massey 35x three pot engine. Full rebuild. I was working with a mate and when I said put a bit of oil down the cylinders before to allow rings to bed in better he put loads in each one and for good measure put some in he intake. It smoked the college workshop out. Done nothing it smoke for ages until it fired up.
  6. I had another 200t on the bench tonight. For a little bit of tweaking again. That two done now. Onto an ms026 soon. Sorry the bench is still under restriction so no pics. Should be posting some again next week. Damn I love stihl saws...... Yes I said it what you lot going to do about it. :001_tt2:
  7. There's is always one thing about a rebuild that I really hate, and it really puts butterflies in my stomach. Firing it up for the first time after all that work. It almost makes me not to be the one that turns the key.
  8. I don't rate the Polaris much. Big an bulky. Heavy too. I don't like hydrostatic on a quad. When you need that direct drive it just isn't there.
  9. Used. Hem before for building jobs. They are ok but need a flat surface to reflect back at you. If the surface isn't flat the laser will bounce off and not give a reading.
  10. How much do you charge mate??? That is brilliant. Beats the quad snow plough any day.
  11. Just looked at worcs link. Has he had four for sale or are they the same ones???
  12. I use to have great fun on one. Overloading the bucket and sending it out until it tips is good for a laugh, especially when a new driver is in it. Lifted a plasterer up in the air once at full boom. All 12m of it and left him there for a couple of hours. He wasn't scared of heights after that. Using for tree work with a cage works. The newer models have an auto reverse on the fan. No more blowing out with an airline either. Just flick a switch and rev up the engine blows the dust out. Best invention ever.
  13. Hmmm greasing while 'hot' normally means the grease just turns into water like substance and doesn't get into the bearing. Do it warm or cold.
  14. Too true. May as well try and go all out with the biggest boom you can get and front jacks. They have to be the most versatile tool out there. Fork extensions are also a good idea aswell. If your really good you can use the front jacks to move the forks in and out if they are not auto adjusting aswell
  15. Yep you should a months free trial. You will have to have an email adress to set up a live ID and you may have to change your profile name if its not available online. I can't remember the basics now as my Xbox went ages ago. (Ring of death) but if you need talking through it I can help.
  16. I really couldn't think of a job where at some point a handler would not be usefull. Even in a yard with a loading bucket on or a 4 in 1 bucket.
  17. Agreed. It happens to the greenmech aswell. Pull the bar and in it goes. The greenmech cm220 will get blocked up the shoot if the blades get blunt as instead of chipping it starts to shred.
  18. Yeah right. My life aint worth it mate. I can wait. Only 21 days 2 hours and 10 minutes and 18,17,16,15,14,13 seconds to go. I cane wait. No stop laughing I really can wait. 12,11,10,09,08 seconds.
  19. I have now started badgering the missis. But she is not giving in. Anyway I don't care. I've got black ops 1.
  20. Never. My boy has just turned five and I got him a huge remote control crane. It is his I promise. He does get to play on it when I'm at work
  21. Just been looking through a few of my old diary s and jobs I done with my old man in the garage. And it has only just hit me how tweaking a saw is very much the same as a four stroke old car engine. My first engine was a mini engine. We polished the ports and skimmed the head down. Also put a racing cam to keep valves open longer. Ring any bells???? Shows how my mind works if I have only just remembered this stuff. But then I have been trying to block anything I did with my old man out of my head lately.
  22. I didn't see the point in goin to midnight sale. I nearly done it with black ops 1 but fell asleep. And there was plenty on the shelf anyway. Same thing with black ops 2.
  23. Compression tested, vac tested, pressure tested???
