  1. But he is looking at spikes with no straps for 50 quid. Plus onto that the price of new straps!.
  2. Yep I always view when a new post is up. But sometimes I remember something that was posted and go searching for it.
  3. Why buy cheap. They are something that will last years. You will only buy once. Buy proper. Cheap means rubbish.
  4. Me no speaka da English. :confused1::lol:
  5. Looking at the forecast for tomorrow looks I've I will be glued to the bench. The 034 still needs tests. The 200s need all manner of checks and tests. They run just not how I would be happy with how they should run. Got a few saws to go over aswell. Another 034 that needs a good going over. Just to check its all good. Thing it is lacking a little bit of power. A 026 to look at. And look at getting some safety stickers for the assessment saws.
  6. I thought pm meant PRIVATE message.:lol: How did you manage to read my messages. Didn't send anything to gardenkit by accident did you spud.:lol: Only joking baz. Oh and spud. When you came up with this thread did you ever thing it could nearly reach 100,000 views???? Must be the biggest thread on arbtalk:thumbup:
  7. I use a ferrel for blocking the intake on the 200t. It's a perfect fit on almost any stihl saw aswell. These. Comes in any size you need. http://www.ebay.com/itm/4pc-Walking-Stick-Cane-Black-Rubber-Ferrules-End-Bottom-12mm-16mm-19mm-22mm-25mm-/260999596168?pt=UK_SportingGoods_HikingEquipment_RL&var=&hash=item3cc4c9c888
  8. Just a quick one but what ones will be available after Xmas. Design wise. Can the chainsaw diagram ones be up for grabs?? Would like a green one with the tree climber in. But also would like the chainsaw one. If these are available next year I will be more than happy.
  9. Cheers guys. They all have 020 carbs on. Tuned one up today and seems a bit better but got a bit of hain run on, just need to look at the clutch first.
  10. Not sure what else you could call it and still be within forum rules
  11. Now that's even worse. The other topper hasn't got one in and it runs like a dream... This could turn into cat and mouse. Maybe I need to get myself up a tree with it and just let it hang there running and when it cuts out I can check it over. Oh the joy of twiddly 200t's. how I do love those saws.
  12. I just had to watch it again....... Can't stop laughing now.
  13. I actually put one in there the other day. Guess that will be coming out then. Now I'm kicking myself for it. Cheers gardenkit. And thanks all for the sticker link. Will be looking into that.
  14. I've had a small issue with one of the 200t I done. It will rev like crazy and won't bog down exept it seems to be funny up the tree. Will always run perfectly on the ground no matter how long I run it or what I do with it on the deck. The moment it goes up it will play around. The tickover seems a bit funny as it will increase in revs then die. Also be a pig to start, when its lowered down I will pull and it will fire almost instantly. Hence why I was asking about the plug colours. Don't know if its just the low side that needs a tune. But on the ground it works fine. Maybe d a tree surgeons can add to this and describe what happens up the tree...... Have called the other topper Lucy... As in juicy Lucy, it really gets through a tank of fuel quick when being used. Think it lasted about 45 mins with little cutting today. But was running all the time. Then it clonked out and sent down for a fuel up but wouldn't re start, soon found the plug was shot. New plug and it ran faultless all day. Just need the new buffers. The 034 is back again. Was being used logging last night and the problem returned. Just wouldn't run up when throttle pulled. Would only start on choke even when hot. Put a working carb on it this morning but no difference. Checked carb boot and impulse line they are all good. So it's now a pressure test. Maybe Friday if the weather is crap.
  15. Hmmm I've looked on flea bay and found the same thing. As far as I know they are needed or the saw will not be allowed to be used. It's turning into a PITA.
  16. If anyone remembers Steve (cough) forgot the to buy the tickets and had to run out and get them  Just sayin is all.
  17. Gt some stihl saws in that need some new safety stickers. They are being used for some assessments so need to be on there. Anyone know the prices and where to get them from? It's for a ms280 and an ms260.

  19. I don think I have laughed and cried so much in ages. Burst out laughing and was literally on the floor when two of them started using each others..... Nice one Barrie.:lol: On a serious note I too am a little bit worried about what you search for on the Internet.

I would say to anyone to give it a go. After all you get a probation period to find out if a: you are able and or suited to do it and b: they can see you are going to fit in. After all you don't know until you try. Check out there website The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea And do the search for your nearest then contact them. I sent an email to my local and they invited me down on a training day, never looked back. Been put in for my sea survival training at Poole just waiting for a date. Be some time in the early months next year. Around may time. And have no fear over being seasick if anyone says they havnt been at some point on a lifeboat they are just plain lying.

Was waiting for it. All weather rules matey. Sorry I like to keep dry and warm. Thanks for all the kind words guys. But I really don't see it as brave or anything of the sort. Just a job that when the item comes it needs doing. Guess I may feel a bit different after doing a few nasty jobs. An the missis says that if the pager goes off Xmas day she is leaving me. Here's to hope.:lol::lol:

I'm going to be on t telly. It's going to be on bbc one south east news. They are doing a carol bit of silent night. They are doing a hospital children's ward, lewisham fire service and us. Switching between the three. On Friday the 21st at about 6.45.
  23. The ms250 is done and away. Meter valve was knackerd. The 034 is also back working like the beast she is. Again a meter valve issue. Was too far down so not letting enough fuel in to keep running. Quick adjustment and away it went. All looking good. Also going or be on telly but have to check out the RNLI thread to find out when and why.
  24. Blindly that was quick. I only saw your post. Refreshed the threads and saw bobh post. gardenkit.
