  1. Ok. Employment forum people......
  2.:lol: I only do theses things to show the newbies the mistakes that could cost them dear if they attempt the jobs. Honest.
  3. Yep no lube. Will take it off tomoz and really check it over. The woodruff key looks good. I think I have just been very lucky with it. But I will find out tomoz. Hopefully it's ok, the saw wasn't at any revs, and it stopped straight away. Seemed that the wheel wouldn't pull away from the shaft unless it was moving at the fast pull. Then it would stop turning. It wouldn't carry on turning, just lock up. The crank would also stop turning aswell. Hence why my first thought was seize.
  4. Yeah I was dreading it. But looked it over and it all looks good. I don't know how I missed it. I checked everything on the saw and spent a while getting it back together. Hey ho. It's done up now so pot back on tomoz and go for round two.
  5. :lol::lol:
  6. Tom. Is your new groundie working for you still. If she is I'm willing to relocate. .
  7. Yep. Or a 19mm socket and bar I think. And the pull cord method to stop cylinder moving.
  8. Yeah. Don't eat yellow snow.....
  9. I'm glad I'm not either. I'd be leaving tools in the patients every time. Now where did I put that wrench....
  10. Like many people I will be getting up at 7, getting my work gear on and going to work. Will also be doing exactly the same on Saturday morning........ And hopefully for years to come aswell.
  11. Nah I'm working. It's easier than being at home. So I was once told Not really. Unless the lifeboat pager goes beep beep beep.
  12. Ok so a bit of confession time me thinks. :blushing: I've been porting a 026 for a bit and today I finished and put it all back together. Started it up with the usual butterflies. It started and ran. Just put the bar into some timber. It made contact and stopped with a clatter and bang. Tried pulling over and it would but felt lumpy and chattery. Me thinking poo and all words I can't say went back to the bench and took the pot off expecting to find knackerd rings, broken crank and all manner of horrible things. NOTHING rings good, pot good, crank good............. So pot went back on and pulled over gently, still clattering, as I pulled I happend to look into the flywheel area. Wait for it...... I had forgotten to tighten up the flywheel nut. :blushing::blushing: The saw is on the bench as that's where I left it as I'm wet and hungry. A pause for the laughter....
  13. Ok now I'm really a little bit worried about the arb community...
  14.:lol: Don't forget your five a day people. That's 1 cup of two stroke petrol, half a cup of chain oil, a spoonful of chain fileings, a good bowl of connie chip and and some red diesel for good measure. Sorry but the surgery is now closed, our opening times are 9am until 9pm, if it is an emergency please throw the tool around the workshop while hitting with a large hammer and call back during surgery hours, thank you for calling
  15. Far from it. Everything can be repaired. We have the technology....
  16. No you don't...... Don't have to be civil just because its Xmas :lol:
  17. To be honest I've never really looked into the plates. Check the springs are all ok or there are small plate around the clutch, make sure they are ok.
  18. The clutch. Ish it may differ a little bit.
  19. The clip is easy. Use a small flat screwdriver to prize it off. It's half circle in shape and will spring off. Be sure to use a gloved hand and hold hand over the top or it may fly off accros the workshop and be gone forever. Looks like the pic below. Get the screwdriver into on of the slot bits in it. Work it out slowly and you will see what needs doing. After this clip will be a washer and then the drum. The drum will have three springs and some plates with the clutch parts. See next post for pic
  20. It's easy to look into the clutch and see if anything amiss there. Take bar and chain off and possibly the drum. The clutch is then visible. Look for knackerd springs or plates. If not then go with compression etc
  21. Consider it done. May aswell as I've got to take it all off again to get a gasket in anyway.
  22. That's him. The first picture is the tractor in the background.
  23. Just a simple one from me... Is the chain good???
  24. Hhhmmmm I need a lathe.
  25. Was thinking about this. No lathe tho.. It will be easier to put the gasket back in or make one. The squish is 0.72mm not sure what the clearance needs to be. The piston hits the top but will continue with some pressure against it. So it only just hits the top. Could clean the top of the piston and try again.
