  1. Good to know I'm not the only one a little concerned over how it will end up. Maybe I'm just too tired an trying too hard to over think things. I think I need to go to bed and sleep for a change. By the way I do agree that AT is perfect the way it is at the moment.
  2. I don't care about the cold. I just wish it would stop raining for a few blooming minutes so I can work without getting soaked through.
  3. I saw o e this morning that was puffing out intermittent smoke clouds. Like it was only firing on 3 cylinders. Every other second a puff of black would come out....
  4. Nt sure I'm actually going to like or get all this. So the thanking thing is so you can thank people for there input. But also other people can see there thanks and how many they have. So for example. If two techies give advice and each are different the asker can look at there thanks and go with the most thanks...... Sounds like a points system to me. The bars thing is for prizes. To me this seems silly. Points mean prizes and all that. So by posting more then you get more points and win prizes. Seems a bit gameshowie to me. I have no fear over what I post or any advice I give. Some are very good with describing what they need to get accross a point. I however need certain things in front of me to diagnose a problem as its the way my brain works. For this I will not get many points or thanks as I hold off a lot on posts as I don't know how to word it. Anyway. Do we really need to encourage posts and advice. To me it seems its always given and taken regardless??? Or is it all just me.
  5. It was in it when I brought the car, guess it will be changed ASAP then.
  6. Ok. I will add it to my list of jobs for the old girl. The battery is really old looking. It's a banner.
  7. Uh oh. Hope you have plenty of stress balls Steve. So what was the bars. Sorry it's doing my head on not knowing what it was all about. As for 9 pages. I think it must be a boring time with all the rain about.
  8. I'm thinking duff battery cell. The alternator is working as it should as on a short journey like form my home to work there is more than enough in battery to restart the engine. Or if I start it at home and stop in shop on the way. About 30 seconds of driving, then restart the engine turns over fine. It's a 200tdi by the way. 1990. What battery does anyone recommend for me?
  9. No I did get it. Just thought I would put some random post in saying he needs glasses or a thorough eye exam. Oh damn it there is no crap advice button.
  10. I'm sorry I'm a it confused about that one mate... You on about my picture. I thought I looked like a thug. Aparantly my missis said you need your eyes checking as I'm much better looking.
  11. My disco is being a pain at the moment. Had trouble starting in the cold so tested the glow plugs. Didn't work so got some new ones. Damn there expensive. Changed this and it wouldn't start in the morning. Not over cold but still ran battery flat. Tried putting a wire direct from battery to each plug this morning, but when I turned the key battery was flat. Now I know the alt and charging system is working well as I have turned everything electric on and revved to see if lights dim but they stay bright. S I guess it's a new battery. Don't think the battery has enough life left in it to turn the engine over quick enough to start it. If I bumb it down a hill as soon as I lift the clutch it starts.
  12. Thanks albedo oh haha I don't need to say it anymore I can just push a button. So just for my own curiosity can anyone enlighten me on what the bars that appeared for a short while were all about???
  13. Yeah if I don't get any thanks I'm going to cry and be in a bad mood all day. Looks like it could be a nice touch for anyone giving or receiving good advice or information. Although I can see spuds and gardenkits thanks going through the roof.
  14. It happens all the time. The price they get for repairs is all new parts from the cars manufacturers, a garage will look into aftermarket parts to keep the cost as low as they can. A write off can always be fixed and put back on the road. Some may require a visit to a vosa testing station to be checked over others will just need a visit from vosa to check the chassis and vin numbers match to check you havnt cut and shut. Others won't need any visit just try and tax it or MOT it. I've heard of ins claims going into a year old.
  15. Now it's got thanked so many times in so many posts. It's all going a bit strange now.
  16. It's all to do with the rate my hinge thread
  17. Everyone's on the bar thread mate. So what did you want to know again. You snoring keeping the neighbours awake.?
  18. Yeah don't by a ford.....
  19. Not a bad idea rob. One problem I would have is I would close the rear door and put a saw straight into that nice sub.
  20. Boooo hey gone now. I was beginning to enjoy that... We've all got a secret rating system that only Steve can see and it's how he rates us..... It's a conspiracy I tell ya.
  21. Go to your name at the top. Look for the experience bar. It says give points. Hey you got more than me so share the love.
  22. This is going to fail miserably. Everyone will just give there points away. It will be like a child peeing contest, how far up the wall can you reach? Oh maybe that was just me then
