  1. Mine cuts fast and runs fine . It just falls to bits .
  2. This is mine ...
  3. Ah . Thats the problem ...a spool I dont ever use a spool . I use an Oregon jet Fit head . I use the 4 way head just as it keeps the nut recessed but only yous 2 lines . Cut them about 12" max with no guard gives you almost a 2 foot wide swipe but you do need 45cc or more with plenty of grunt .
  4. Well . Maybe it would be . They are tougher externally thats for sure . The only thing that breaks on our 200 is the brake handle where it pops into the chain cover but just carry on makes no difference . They did have their carb problems periodically but no where near the problems of the T540 . When I first got my 540 I thought it was a cracking little saw . Fast cutting and torquey but Husky have missed a trick by making it tooooo fragile ..
  5. You have GOT to baby it . No good working it rough . Dont drop it on your strop it will bend the AV spring and eventually break the molded lug so the saw fall in half . Wath out with the Techlite bar . Dont do anything other than clean strait cuts . No flicking bits off or anything tricky like that . The 2 bar rails part and de laminate .
  6. If thats all you have to worrie about so far with you T540 you are getting off lightly !
  7. Thats ok you can disagree . What do you mean " gum up " ? Also I find that a 4 way head makes the motor to twice the work and prefer running just 2 lines as it cuts faster for a given length
  8. 61 and counting . ........
  9. Update ! Mine fell in half today . The molded lug that locates one end of the rear AV spring sapped leaving the saw flapping like a bit of washing ......
  10. Mine fell in half today . The little molded lug the locates one end of the rear AV spring sapped ........
  11. Diamond edge made by desert extrusions . I use the 3.00mm and 4.00mm square but they do make smaller sizes .
  12. Chuck any fuel that was in it away and make fresh before you attempt anything . Is it an Auto tune or the early non A/T ?
  13. I just cant understand why .
  14. No 3 rod goes through the side on some engines , a faulty batch of con rod bolts I believe . I have an 05 D22 with 80k on it now . I change the oil and filter every 6k religiously . It has been fine and a good truck .
  15. Its not the climber that gets the worst of it . Its the poor guy on the chipper .
  16. Just got mine back as it would start but not run . The secondary butterfly that "follows the main one with a slight delay ( a feature of Xtorque engines ) has a seal behind it . This was not seated properly and was leaking air .
  17. Pretty warm Jon . Festival of Speed weekend . Had Red Arrows over and that VERY LOUD Typhoon !
  18. Just got mine back from my , ever so helpful and friendly dealer . It was running erratically and stalling . This was the problem ...There is a secondary butterfly valve to the right of the main butterfly that follows the the main one with a slight delay . ( a feature of X torque engines ) The seal around it was not seated properly . My dealer ( DM Chainsaws of Walberton West Sussex Fixed it with no charge )
  19. Closed sides closed top . Cant really picture whats going on with yours .
  20. How is it worse mid winter if there is no leaf on ??
  21. If it folding just poke it in your sky .

Where they gone then Jon . About 10 years ago they used to drive me bonkers with their call all the time but now I miss them at spring time .
  23. Hats off . As said hero when its good as this was .
  24. Bummer Chris . Sorry to hear it bud .
  25. We have a Canter and a Jensen A 540 and have never experienced what you describe . I adjust the spout to just miss going over the the roof so it makes it right to the back wall and builds from there . We can fill the whole thing right up .
