  1. Its always a theoretical " trade off " But I have a Spud ported 372 that has a " high top " flock filter but it still goes like a pig down a freshly greased slide ! Ask Steve !
  2. Yes . A/T saws will compensate to a degree for partially blocked filter, as will it compensate for a small air leak . That is no excuse for ignoring basic maintenance .
  3. People call sycamore a weed but for me it is the least labour intensive fire wood going . Seasons quickly , splits a treat and burns a little better than ash but not quite as long as beech .
  4. That filter in the pic is disgusting , even got a bit of conifer growing in it !
  5. Had this on a Jensen ans it was a crack battery lead . You could get under and wiggle it and it would cut in and out .
  6. Im Good Steve thanks . Same with you I hope ?
  7. Always a favorite . Mine had a faulty fuel valve .
  8. Just use top quality oil ( Husqvarna XP or Red Line etc ) Make sure the carb is always adjusted correctly and it wont over rev . Keep all the potential air leeks at bay and it should keep going for a good while yet .
  9. He say he has cleaned the carb . Any way were have been ? !!
  10. Hopefully yea . If not do I need a solicitor ?
  11. I felled one on my front lawn as it was touching the roof . Burnt a treat , hot and long . Also coppiced well as it sprouted from the stump and made another tree really quickly . I realized it was Pusudoacasie but did not know that Black Locust was the name the Americans give it !
  12. Still think the Aldi fishing jacket thing is good value .
  13. I have found with the 2 A/T saws I have ( 560 and 540 ) that once the initial A/T set has been done you just get on and cut wood as it is constantly adjusting itself to the conditions . If you suddenly go from the lowlands of Scotland to the top of the Himalayas then maybe you need to re set but if not just cut wood .
  14. The plugging in does ( unless you have the software ) but re setting the A/T your self can be donre as above buy cutting the full length of the bar for 3-5 mins as per the book .
  15. Are you going any were near the river Y whilst you are in the Beacons Paul . I camped there once when I was about 12 . Beautiful place .
  16. Just wondered if you come from Texas ? Your post fills about 3 screens !
  17. Just out of interest have you tried resetting the A/T ? I had a problem with mine and it turned out to be a fuel valve ( electronic I think ) that was replaced by my dealer for free .
  18. Check that the flywheel key is not sheared and put the flywheel slightly out of time .
  19. Dont bin them . Use them for strimming .
  20. What about Black Locust ? Think its a Robinia species . Good fire wood and fast growing I have heard .
  21. Thats what I thought So if he wants to leave the stump up a bit thats fine !
