  1. Re pollard a willow take down 2x huge syc . All on same sight.
  2. I would suggest something pro or semi pro ( depending on your budget ) arround the 50cc to 60cc size . In the husqvarna pro range a 346xp if you can get one, or its replacement the 550xp . Also a 357xp if you can get one, or its replacement the 560xp . There will be loads of other alternatives from Stihl etc etc . Good luck .
  3. Well done mate . You ate now an official member of the orange and silver club . Known to some as " the dark side "

Fastest chainsaw I ever seen is the " predator " V8 on youtube. click on youtube and type in v8 chainsaw , Predator
  6. Actually just looked and there is nothing at the mo for 380CD . Sorry . There has been though . Mostly from U.S.
  7. Shed loads of " sold as seen" " for parts only " " non runner don't know whats wrong" " project saw " " fixer upper " on ebay ?
  8. Dissagree on the pop. Burns very slow cos its wet . Its always wet unless you go over the top to keep it dry . Then it burns too fast ! Agree it gives out little heat . Makes good kindling splits easy . Matches yes.
  9. Pop is the worst for soaking up moisture . You got to keep it bone dry . Makes good kindling as said . Not a very high calorific value but burns well when dry , too fast some say . They make matches from it .
  10. When I had my 357 ( just sold it got a 560 ) it did the same . Not enough to investigate but just enough to be mildly irritating ! Every Wednesday I would stand it on last weeks copy of motorcycle news . ( old inca tric )
  11. Old but still a cracker !
  12. Slight de rail but not too far . Aspen . I have heard that if a saw starts its life on Aspen it can then run on conventional mix but if you start its life on conventional mix you can't then run it perminently on Aspen . Something to do with a coating on the components in the carb . The coating keeps the rubber soft and supple . Petrol strips the coating off but the petrol its self keeps them supple . If you use Aspen after the petrol has striped the coating then the rubber stiffens and cracks . New carb kit required. Or is this rubbish ?
  13. An all metal Jonsered with no a.v. and no brake I think . Bigish heavy longish bar . Also a very small Alko . That was yellow . We are talking 1970 something .
  14. Spud is yer man . When he reads this he will have an answer . Pr you could PM him .
  15. I know you are asking MattyF this question and I might ask the same > I like .325 on the shorter bars as you get more cutters . However the 560 in the u.s. is the 562 with the larger bar mount and a 3/8 drive . So it could be a 1 pitch chain for all thing .
  16. Yea Steve Thats what I think . i also think its not progress ! If you ever come up with a way of fitting a carb with the twiddely bits Im first in line bud !
  17. He should give it to ya as he is yer Dad !
  18. So not all progress is actually forward then ?
  19. What about the people who are near the cat when its being made ?
  20. Its had a remap . its had a 2012 carb ( 2011 saw ) Its had the hotter plug fitted . I put the rim back to a 7 pin and its fine now . I still think it should be able to ruin an 8 pin though .
  21. What I was clumsily trying to say is that I have/do run some of my saws with a higher gearing i.e. 8 pin rim instead of standard 7 pin . This gives a faster chain speed and as long as the bar length is not stupid they all cope fine . a 560, much as I love it won't . The out going 357 will cope . there fore , on paper , the 560 should cope . I think its the auto tune stepping in to prevent it . I think this as its the only one with auto tune .
  22. Yea I got 2 of them . Fantastic saw when its running , can't be beat in the class , just needs a carb with twiddely bits to sort it . They plugged mine in to a pc and they told me how many hours it had run flat out and how many mins it had idled for ! I mean who gives one ?
  23. Agreed . Apparently there is more pollution generated in the manufacture of a cat than a cat absorbs when in use .
  24. Do costa supply a telescopic bore gauge and mic ? at all ?
