  1. Hi Jon. Yep all seems fine now . Hotter plug , 2012 carb , and back to a 7 pin powermate rim . 18" bar . Don't know if it was one or a combination of things but its all good set up as above so I'm not tinkering with anything ! ! Thanks for asking bud .
  2. I expect they want to rush around the woods coppicing hazel
  3. Big old Sachs Dolmar on fleabay at the mo . Not sure what capacity the engine is but it comes with a 30" bar I think . Also no chain brake so may have been on a mill before ? Both tanks are filled from the same side . ( Its not mine by the way ! )
  4. It means it will only fit up the full length breach on Clint Eastwoods 357 . " Do you feel lucky punk ?- - Well do ya ! ?
  5. Maybe that's why there is not much interest in the one on flea bay then !
  6. I heard of some one having problems keeping saw dust the right side of the filter on a new Stihl 391 . This it seems happens pretty much as soon as you start cutting. Any one heard this of this ?
  7. Used my spud tuned 346 to day for a couple of hours , nothing short of awesom
  8. Yep it was near Perth . My bro works at the uni of WA in Perth .
  9. Maybe Jon, maybe. Never had a 60cc that would not run an 18" bar before tho'
  10. UPDATE UPDATE . Original saw with hot plug 2012 carb 18" bar +chain working fine . Worked it hard in big ash today , never stopped . Only tning I have done is go back to the standard 7 pin power mate rim . May be this was the problem all along ? Who knows . Hope this is the last of it .

    Fake 395XP

Yep I did that once . Buyer told me to mind my own biz . and if I persisted in bothering them they would report me too

    Fake 395XP

I used to do both . Sometimes the seller is innocent and responds accordingly, amending the listing to state its a " copy" the don't go as far as to say a useless fake . ebay do nothing cos they want the money . Ho Hum

    ladders !

The only ladder I go near is the one in my wifes stockings
  14. Hayter Osprey . Fitted new aluminium cutter disk . Well not new but not bent like mine . Now the swing blades touch the grass before anything else ! Works better that way .
  15. A standard 550 is probably better than a standard 346 but not if you have a spud tuned on . I used my mates standard 346 and then swapped to mine . it made the standard one seem as though there was something wrong with it !
  16. Ignor it. so has mine never gotten any worse .
  17. Heres what I did . I gave my 346 to spud and he ported it and now it out performs a 550 . Its tached at 1440 -1600 rpm and runs a 15" bar full ch. chain and an 8 pin power mate . Ner Ner Na Ner Ner
  18. Jon I don't think the 18" bar is a problem if you got a good saw . For good read 2012 it seems . The eirlier saw had a hot start problem no matter what bar was fitted .
  19. Have they still got that problem with the europian hohse borrer beetle that was affecting all the pines ? They were felling and burning on site whgen I was there
  20. O.K. I would go for tried and tested. Reason I say this is I have had alopt of trouble with my 560 ( 550 is similar but smaller ) and non whatsoever with my 346 . See the other thread " any one having trouble with 560 " for details of probs . Not saying 550 will be the same but some guys have them and its stating to smell similar . Husqvarna have the potential with those 2 saws to clean up . They are both fantastic saws head and shoulders above the competition but not all of them run properly . If you go for a 550 be sure to get a 2012 model and not a 2011 . Good luck with everything
  21. What don't you like about WA ? I loved it when I was there but then I was only dossing about for 3 weeks !
  22. Hi Jon . Yep its a hotter plug . Supposed to aid the hot start problem , although when they fitted the revised carb that seemed to cure the hot start. Sooo I have 2 swas now . My original has new 2012 carb and hotter plug 18" bar . 2nd saw has the cooler plug ( don't know what carb ) and an 18" bar . Both saws are 2011 on the tags. Going to trial them both side by side in a big bit of ash .
