  1. Yea would say the same . He wanted a difference but yea what you said .
  2. Mmmm . Sadly I think you may be right . We are all gonna die , thats for sure . He will be missed by me I can confirm that .
  3. Jon you godda be on a piece of elastic the way you are in and out !
  4. Sorry . If its a Stihl chain itsa p[parallel to the ground if its an Oregon / Husqvarna its 10 degrees down .
  5. Yea I usually wear different pants .
  6. What can yer do ?? I dunno . Any way just noticed your Mohamed Ali bit . The one I remember goes " What I'm going to do to Jo Frasier will surly amaizia ! What a dude !
  7. Yep that's how I see it . Thing is he then goes away with a perception of what a Husqvarna / Stihl saw is and its false . Makes me spit abit really bud !
  8. The last one I would accept ......There is no way she is a fake , ( man I mean ) sop yea .....
  9. Its just experience I suppose . Some "sad people " , my self included can tell the sound of a car or motor bike and get it right . To some people its just a noise . I think I can tell a a fake saw at a glance ( hopefully ) . Depends what your perception and eye for detail is .
  10. Yea that works for me . Only started the thread cos was a bit board and had just sharpened up .
  11. Its to do with the taper . Oh bollox life is tooooo short ..........
  12. Ok thamnks . we think the same then .
  13. Disagree . Because the file should be 1/5 its dia (20%) above the top plat when sharpening the cutter it never clears out all the gullet . Not a problem for several sharpens but when you get near the end of the cutters life the part of the gullet that's not been taken out will protrude out further that the " working corner " of the cutter and so will rub .
  14. If you view the top plate from above you can see it tappers back so the more you file it the narrower it becomes . The gullet is the curved part under the top plate where yopui place the file . Because the file is not the same dia as the gullet you start to leave some of it behind the more you sharpen . You can get a condition ,where whats left of the original part of the gullet, is now wider than the widest part of the top plate and so will rub in the kirf .
  15. Just had a sharpen up . When the cutters get about halfway back I file the gullets so there is no chance of the side plate " rubbing " anyone else file the gullets ?
  16. Nothing wrong with legit horse meat , when advertized as horse meat ( like in France ) but when it sold as beef its a con . The other thing to worry about is if its not legit its probably got large quantity's of Bute . This is the horse equivalent of Ibuprofen . If you took the same dosage in bute as you would Ibuprofen you would not get up again . .....
  17. New piston and ring and work on the bore .
  18. Yea possibly but looks more like a blocked pipe job to me . Never mind a 254 What about a 308 or hell yes a 50 cal !

    First saw

    Very eloquently put .....
  20. Glad we could help . I'm still sat on my arse !!
  21. Mine does and he is ten mins away . He won't get everythin Justin will get but most of it .
  22. Could be wrong here but the best way to check is read what it says on the existing power mate rim . i.e. .325 7 pin . or maybe .375 7 pin . ( 3/8 ) . if you go up to say an 8 pin its the outside dia that will increase , not the I.D. . .325 crank shaft dia is smaller than 3/8 or .404 but without getting up from my chair and taking a saw apart and measuring I can't tell you off hand . . . sorry had a couple of beers .
  23. Ok when you reply use quote not quick reply , scroll to the bottom of the page and click manage attachments . That will send you to your photos , well does on mine . Then you select the pics you want and up load them .......
