  1. ha, i know someone that used something very similar to that. Proberly still does!
  2. do you climb with that lot on all the time??
  3. even the proper pulleysaver can be an bugger to retrieve, not good when its stuck up a 130ft plane and all the other climbers have just pulled their ropes out...then start laughing at your sorry ass
  4. I was sucked into the idea of mechanicals by the zigzag video but after some research went for the spiderjack as the self tending of it wins IMO. Pair it up with a Pulleysaver/ropeguide for its true potential and whizz round trees like a nutter!!
  5. I have never tried it, is gonna be as fun as my pulleysaver SJ combo??
  6. Remember to use a rigging pinto, you can then use an ART/Teufelberger retreival ball.
  7. cheers, will take extra care when locating the threads!!
  8. Im not surprised, I only use mine for my 200t. Dunno if even a large would cope with 088!!
  9. If your using it just to hook your chainsaw on, remove the metal clip gate. Makes thinks less likely to tangle. I have a small one and i cut the top section off with some secateurs so i just have a hook, the saw never comes off and it makes for quickdraw saw time:thumbup1:
  10. I heard the petzl harness' get pulled down easily by big saws.
  11. I never wore gloves in trees in 9 years til i tried a pair of those, other rubberized ones do not cut it!!
  12. most things are 5 years.
  13. i recently switched to 11.5mm tachyon from 13mm tee vee to accomidate my spiderjack, i find it really nice to use. Ive tried Aeris and blaze and find them very hard on my hands. Although if you use some decent grippy rubberised gloves like the pfanner ones your hands will deal with it fine.
  14. we use the isc swing cheek for redirects and they have done us proud for the 2/3 years we have had them.
  15. whats work like in scotland???? a kiwi i work with is enquiring.
  16. sometimes i have early finishes....sometimes. My rate of pay is ok but i hate doing my own tax:thumbdown:
  17. 30% is no way going out on the tip btw!!
  18. i work late for nothing extra all the time as a freelance climber. its sucks.
  19. ive never used it or even seen anyone use it for that matter, other than to use it for canopy access.
  20. Isnt that from the carpentry range??
  21. 201 sucks hard i luckily have one of the last 200s that was on sale which is still holding out well
  22. opt for the leather boot strap, i got the velcro ones and can't get them tight enough and find they come loose sometimes......... and they clog with sawdust.
  23. Cheers, we got hit about a month ago in fortis green. They waited until all the ground staff were stopping traffic then pounced, saws were literally in spitting distance from the tree we were working on!!
  24. Looks like the stem is on its way out too, from what i can see??
  25. fell it, pollarding will not get rid of the gutter problem as its just too close to the house.
