  1. I think with most chainsaw boots they have to have a vibram sole in order to be replaced.
  2. I agree, can you not set up a rigging anchor from a stem or another tree (as you say they are in a line) to lower away from the buildings?? In my 10 years in trees i have only had to employ a zip line once! It takes a lot to set it all up!!
  3. I definately do like drinking beer!! The only tree that would get me out on my spare time is this dirty girl, the Barnes plane. Some guys i know tried a couple of years ago but got thrown off. thing is collossal
  4. they have one on show at honey bros. Looks well made but acending with them looks tricky , it even says it in the instructions.
  5. Do you guys only work a couple o days a week or summat??? Ive had it with climbing trees by friday!!
  6. im gettin me one of them!!!
  7. basically it looks like i should get someone to splice me one and just use a maillon as the clip???? would be a lot cheaper as i already have a pinto!!
  8. Thinking of getting one of these. My only reservation is that as the snap is located on the end of the rope, does it get in the way when working close to your anchor point??? I suppose you could shorten it with some kind of knot but that would make more problems with retreival???? any feedback appreciated
  9. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQyETUg2_I0]Tree trigonometry - YouTube[/ame]
  10. Hey has anyone showed you guys the trick with the stick?????? a lot less effort!!!
  11. Got some tachyon and it works great! Think i might invest in a pulleysaver when i got some spare cash, but works well on my multisaver in the meantime.
  12. no room for spikes!!
  13. id just worry about bending the links!! and they dont look replacable!!
  14. everyone i know who has had PI has cut it in record time!!! not bright enough!!
  15. I just got a SJ 2.1.....its ability to self tend wins all day long!
  16. Got the SJ yesterday and took it out on some big plane clean outs today. the 13mm worked fine when i got about a 5m tail. I can see how a thinner rope would help but everything seemed to work how it should do. The SJ will be awesome as soon as i get used to it!!
  17. Just got my SJ yesterday and it looks like my 13mm tee vee dont work too well with it, will give it a go on some big planes today but reckon i will have to get a thinner line. Any suggestions??? Velocity and tachyon look good.
  18. cheers chaps....gonna go with my 13mm to start then change over if i feel i have to or can afford it.
  19. Thinking about getting a spiderjack but my only concern is how well 13mm rope would feed through it??? Just wondering as my hands have trouble with anything smaller and i have a fairly new 13mm long rope i dont want to have to replace after spending a lot of money on the SJ.
  20. my boss just got a protos...looks and feels very nice and your earmuffs will never again be caught in brush/rope tangles!! downside is it costs 165 quid before vat and you will look like some sort of rave stormtrooper!
  21. i wonder what would happen when your rope pulls it to the side (against the rivits) around a branch or fork when your in a tight spot??????? cant be good!
  22. The spider jack looks like it takes the rope through a lot easier making it a lot better at ascending. gonna have to try both out!
  23. how doe it get on with 13mm rope??? my hands cant take anything smaller!!
  24. i dont usually go for all these kind of gadgets, but this has got me excited!!! Looks a lot simpler to use than the spiderjack....works like a prusik...sold!
